Mid-Aged Top Rhônes (Jordan's Place - Chicago IL) : Bright yellow fruits, unlike too many Viognier wines, this has good energy and tension. Old world, classic styling with enough energy to hold its own for 5+ years, but I doubt any upside.

Dry, fresh if a bit shorter than the other vintages presented. Interesting to see this, but the weakest of the lot. #Møntergade#Gerard-visit

Honeysuckle. White peaches. Dried apricots. Stone - Almond/marzipan. Lush and rounded but with good freshness. Very long. Just. Lovely.

Xavier Gerard and Will Arnold (Noizé, London) : Far more floral and lifted on the nose. Vibrant and expressive. A touch of beeswax. Vintage style seems to suit the terroir providing some energy and lift. ****

Everything Wine Seminar - Northern Rhone : Wines of the Northern Rhone - Everything Wine Seminar Nose: soft and delicate guava and papaya notes, key lime peel with nuances of lemon and honeycomb rounding out a beautiful nose. Oddly enough I got a couple notes of hairspray...not sure where it came from and was fleeting enough to not detract but odd nevertheless. Palate is classic classic Condrieu. Luscious and decadent mouthfeel with a complex balance of overripe lemon, wax, tropical …

Still lovely, same notes as last time, but we can't help shaking the sensation that this is starting to go to sleep for a bit. Just seemed a bit muted tonight.

Intensely and wonderfully floral and slightly nutty with ripe peach, some marzipan. Good depth and richness, nearly unctuous slight. Label says 13.5%, but my palate says higher, this is a wine to enjoy while it is still this fresh with its youthful exuberance.

White jasmine. Apricots. Hint of pineapple and maybe even mango (although this subsided a bit with air). Honey. Almond - marzipan. Rounded and full but still nicely fresh (loved the texture). Thought this was stunningly good. 93+

Jasmine tea, tart apricot jam, wonderful mineral texture. Honey comes out on the nose with time and temperature. There are some peach blossoms and peach skins in there, too. This was one of the most singular wines I have ever had. It's really high quality.
