Day 1: Natural cork. Outstanding Pinot and don't tell me Cali doesn't make elegant wines that rival Oregon or Burgundy as this does. Strawberries, minerals, dust, twigs, rose petals, earth and mushrooms. One of the more balanced Pinots I have tasted this year. Outstanding auction purchase. 94 points Day 2: What a fantastic Pinot. Top 10 of the year for sure. Strawberry, minerals, chalk, mushrooms, rose petals, soy, earth and dust. Medium plus finish. 94.5 points Day 3: Electric wine …

Medium/light in body. Semitransparent ruby in color with a purplish tinge. Strawberry, blackberry, lavender and earth on the nose. Both sweet and savory characteristics on the palate highlighted by strawberry and slightly brambly blackberry fruit which transitions to crunchy cranberry flavored acidity on the finish. Very tasty and a nice representation of a cool climate Anderson Valley pinot from an acclaimed vineyard. My wife described it as lovely.

Decent Pinot nose but sour aftertaste detracted.

Flinty with subtle earth notes. Was a nice bottle of wine, but did not leave much of an impression.

Ticking along very nicely 13.5% medium colour. A nice sweetness yet fresh cool finish. Decent drive and plenty of fruit as expected but a little lighter than I thought it may be Lovely and maybe deserves higher.

A beautifully balanced Pinot Noir. I think I like it more each time I drink it.

Amazingly lively yet complex Pinot with lots of strawberry, mint, and white pepper with crushed rock - medium body with so much going on!

Wow. This was delicious. Medium bodied but complex, aromatic wits some earthy nose, with generous black and red cherry fruit, earthy, floral, and eucalyptus. Great now but I like it’s aging potential through 2023. A consistently good producer.

For a young pinot noir, the wine was excellent. It was light with a wonderful backdrop of spice and a hint of pepper. It was great over three days (we stored it in the frig with an evacuation of air in the bottle each time).

Medium dark ruby color. Sweet floral nose with a tad bit of alcohol that should fade with time. Black cherry fruit dominates with nice spiciness. Quite good now but I think it will even better from 2019 on

Peay Release Party 2017 (Peay Vineyards, Sonoma) : Highly aromatic nose, with dried roses, fresh roses, ripe black cherry, slight peach, slight reduction (rubber), slight black pepper. Intensely flavored on the palate, with medium alcohol (feels 13%), medium plus acid and medium minus satiny tannins.
