Fairly closed and unyielding on day one, showing earthy characteristics of tobacco and oak, but by day 2 it was singing with light tannins and a smoky cherry flavor. Hold onto your bottles?

This is awesome. Every smell and every taste is different. Old Italians, anise, dried herbs, black fruits, rich with zingy acidity. Fantastic stuff, and the nero d'avola is coming through- but this is everything that you would wish nero d'Avola could be.
