Ok wowowowow pillowy clouds of cranberry gliding over limestone cliffs besotted with myrtle bush that you just can’t forget about. Phenomenal finish. Still just a baby.

Just the right amount of Brett brings horse saddle polish complexity to this black cherry leather, redwood forest floor and fruity dirt (complimentary) melange. Great acid balance. Tannins still a bit firm; this has a long life left in it. Everything I want in a Morgon. Bit broody as that terroir should be.

Light ruby. Floral, herbal aromas. Tart, earthy, aromatic red fruit and soil. Typical and altogether very good. Still a few years in hand.

Good. Not the best match with curry.

Odd. This was a big and brooding style. Murky color and earthy flavors. Obviously not what this wine should be. I've got a few more in the cellar...hopefully this off bottle is a one off.

Dark ruby. Nose of red raspberry, cranberry, soil, iodine, matchstick. Layers of crunchy cranberry, black cherry, mulberry, floral notes, and rocky spine on the palate with maybe a hint of banana. Ample acidity and still-structured tannin. Longer finish of fresh red berry, cinnamon, and earth. Young yet.

Garnet-ruby color. Nose of juicy fresh-cut berry, violets, earth, damp cellar. Fresh, vibrant layers of cranberry, red raspberry, and blackberry fruit on the palate cut with stone and earth. Copious acidity and firm tannin leading to a long finish of blueberry and earthen rock. Very young and capable of extended aging. Lovely tonight.

Aromas are angular and lean, showing the very traditional side of Beaujolais. Lovely briar, some blueberries, and lots of cranberries and under ripe raspberries. Aromas are on the lighter side of flavor, but certainly full of expression, and actually quite powerful for how lean the particulars are. Really lovely. Palate entry is soft and smooth, showing wonderful, elegant texture that's Pinot Noiresque. Ripe acidity and coating fine grained tannins, but not too powerful in nature. You can hold this on …

PNP. Cork perfect. Color garnet with clearing edges. Nose has dark cherry cranberry and some tone. Swishing shows soft acids and some tannin on the finish. Sipping shows greatbalance and the structures propels the finish that is longer than expected for gamay. Nice wine that I think will benefit from a little bottle age

My last bottle. No issues with odd smells on opening - the wine tasted clean and bright though not as fresh as my last three bottles. Still, engaging and easy to drink - matched nicely with roast chicken. Bright red fruit, good acidity and a strong, clean minerality.

My first Thevenet. Brett-like funk on opening, but it blew off quickly. Beautiful wine, with maraschino cherries, a bit of licorice, and lots of earthy notes. Medium body, but with nice concentration and a fairly long finish. Very fine tannins and a lovely texture. Felt it could have used just a bit more cut, but that's my only knock. Still a very nice wine, and easy to see why this producer is considered one of the best in Beaujolais.

This is all the things you want it to be. Strong enough, acidity but clean, complements the food without overwhelming. Needs an hour of air to open up.

The first few minutes this seemed to have a spoiled aspect to it, slightly rotted. Then that was gone and the wine blossomed into something special - great angularity, minerality, bright red fruit and cherry pit tartness. Wow. Really good.

A private dinner (Restaurant Ormer, Flemings Hotel Mayfair, London, UK) : Floral and fragrant, pure, peaches, red cherries, roses, green apple, silky and supple, elegant and stylish, gentle but vibrant phenolics, smoky minerality, lovely flavour persistence.

Klar, dyp rød. Jordbær, moreller, tranebær, nellik, og kardemomme på nese. Ren, saftig, elegant og frukt med silkemyk tekstur. Frisk, saftig syre. Lette, milde tanniner. Tørr utgang med flott lengde. Nydelig Beaujolais.

From magnum - from the glass list at Racine's NYC. Nose is a bit restrained. On palate tart cherry with some minerals, and a bit of grippy tannin on the finish. Very nice.

Pure, structured with very pronounced tannins for being a beaujolais. Nice today, but seems to need some more time in bottle to really shine.

A lovely Morgon! Serious and mineral laden, very pretty red fruit. Silky on the palate, complex. Worth every penny.
