We had this at with dinner (Venezuelan-style pulled pork arepas) at a friends house on 8/1/11. It had a ripe and pleasant bouquet of cherry, plum, herb and spice aromas. The palate was dry and a little bitter with flavors that followed the nose.

A little herbal on the nose. Medium body, lots of vibrant red fruit on the palate, and good persistence. Finishes with that herbal note again. Really easy to drink and a great value.

Cooked, I hope. Certainly the strong notes of sickly-sweet caramel couldn't have been deliberate.
