Tasted the 2012 vintage at the winery last Summer and was on the hunt for some older vintages of this cuvee. This 2014 was simply beautiful. Aromas and flavors of pomegranate and ripe red cherry are layered with notes of oolong tea and hibiscus, framed by seamlessly integrated oak. The palate is impeccably balanced and almost weightless, yet remarkably persistent, carrying through to a long and delicious finish. There’s a striking sense of harmony throughout, showing beautifully and drinking perfectly …

Beautiful! Flowers, black cherry, pomegranate, black tea, with some balanced oak and a little bit of spices and earthy accents. Delicate and weighless for a California Pinot for sure, with a solid dose of mouthwatering acidity. Smooth and plush, with rounded tannins and lingerig delicate finish. Yummm 🍇🍷👏😎😍 97 (WA, JS), 95 VN, 94 WS

After a one-hour decant, this was stunning—the last and best of 6 bottles. One of the best pinots I've tasted in some time.

It's nice. It had about a 30 minute window where it really sang, but otherwise was just nice. Probably past prime but still good

Deep wells of black and blue fruit with tension balancing out from all directions; vanilla, bramble, cedar, hits of gravel and acid. Just impeccable.

30 minutes slow ox. Classic Russian river Pinot from a single block, mostly Calera clone. Big black cherry fruit , pomegranate. Still a very fresh, fruit forward style, weightless in mouthfeel, with a satisfying texture and finish. Hard to believe this is over 10 years old. ,

My wife and I are big fans of Paul Hobbs wine, and we really enjoy all of his Pinots. Katherine Lindsey is one of our favorites. This wine has a deep ruby color. The nose has great raspberry and oak aromas. Floral as well. We both get a lot of red fruit and a subtle vanilla on the palate. The wine lingers for a good 8-10 seconds. Very good.

Dinner with Gary and Danielle at Tresini in Ambler PA. This was a generous contribution from them. While I have good experience w Paul Hobbs Cabs, this was my first time with their Pinot. PnP, drank over 30 minutes. Medium ruby color. Red fruits and floral/rose on the nose. Palate is bright red/brambly fruits upfront, strawberry, cranberry and citrus zest through the mid palate. Tannins fined. Medium body, medium/long finish. This was really fresh and vibrant. I thought it might …

Dark, well rounded fruit, squarely in its window. Good acidity but maybe a little softer than I truly prefer. A lovely bottle of well made Napa valley cab without any shred of oak bomb or other flab.

Opened and slow ox'd for an hour and a half. . Dark red fruit on the nose. The palate is dark cherry, red plums and spice. The finish is long and lingering. I should have decanted it for a few hours.

Tasted after 3 hours in the decanter. Pretty nose of dark berry fruit and oak spice. Deep and dark on the palate--tastes of blackberry and blueberry fruit, some tobacco and minerality like hot stone. Well -integrated and balanced. Seamless from start to the long finish. Medium acidity. Medium but firm tannins. 93+ Enjoyed with short ribs. Shared with Sarah and Claire.

This 2014 was very good but not great. Decanted for 2 hours and drank it over the next 2. From the decanter, bold violet aromas and blueberry pie. On the palate, graphite, black cherry and blueberry flavors with some spice a grippy tannins.

Decanted over cocktails and it kept improving over two hours. It's so lovely to drink a Napa Cab that shows off the unique terroir of Las Piedras vineyard with soft, focused blackcurrant, mocha, and delicious earthy minerality that deepened with air. This is perhaps the best showing I've had yet from a Napa 2014, supple and open without any hard edges. This is a gorgeous wine and while not cheap, it's better QPR than some of the premium labels. Thanks …

So Steak and Seafood night at the club. There was 6 of us going. I opened this bottle 5 hours in advance and let it slow ox. We drank against a 2014 Switchback Anniversary and a 2014 Realm Farella. The nose is berries and a hint of coffee. The palate was dark berries, plums, figs, coffee, sweet pipe tobacco which came through on the long finish. Everyone has different taste buds but this was my personal favorite of the evening. …

Moderate sediment, so take care on the pour/decant. A flavorful, though restrained Pinot Noir. Definitely no California fruit bomb. Deeper, darker color fruit flavors on the nose and palate.

Dream Big, California Wines (Hotel Atlantic, Hamburg, Germany) : One glass, brief note: more concentration than the NApa cab., well structured, dense and with a very high viscosity, velvety swallowing, very long aftertaste, but lacking some freshness, **(*-****), 91-92

Consistent notes across all of Hobb's pinots. A little on the steely side, but very fresh fruit flavors. Not a heavy pinot, by any stretch. I like it, but somewhat overpriced.

Winter in Wineland; 1/14/2017-1/20/2017 (Sonoma & Napa) : Herbal and licorice and great spice characteristics. Get some tobacco as well. Maybe even tar. There's a very savory side to the wine, but also just a hint of sweetness over the top. Enjoyable. Prob preferred to the Hyde served alongside.

Tasted on a food pairing visit to Paul Hobbs the day before Thanksgiving (paired with morel mushroom paste on crustini bread)... Just a beautiful Pinot with fresh cut flowers and strawberries on the nose. red fruits and berries on the palate with a long finish. I'd give this a year or so to further integrate but it is drinking great today for those who can't wait!
