Domaine Jean Féry & fils Bourgogne

Simple, solid, fully developed. Time to drink up. The fruit is still present, but the acidity has dropped - one can either interpret this as fully integrated tannins, which is true, or that it has entered into a plateau after which it will go downhill. Darker fruit, darker color, and a slightly sous bois nose in sync - very good match with a lightly seasoned meat dish. Rated +1 on a scale of -1 to +3.

An enjoyable 2010 Bourgogne that is in the latter stages of maturity. The red fruit has taken on a slightly baked characteristic on this stage, but a floral component still manages to linger in the background. A tasty wine for the money that hit the spot during a quick dinner at home.

Nice village Pinot from Forey, this is drinking well and ready to go, can't see it getting any better. Hints of raspberry and strawberry on palate, a bit acidic - went well with some swordfish with linguini in a red sauce. Just finished my last bottle and it was terrific, as good a Pinot as I have had lately regardless of price.

Nose shows very nice and gently lean perfume of dark cherries, mint and a hint of barnyard Overwhelming acid! Flavours are dominated by lean forest berries and dark not too ripe cherries; plenty of smoke as well, some refreshing mint and extreme tongue feelings (acid - very snappy). Decent, straightforward. Good sit on the deck wine.

Pretty decent. The perfumed nose is the most impressive part of this wine. Palate is a little thing but still shows some red fruits and baking spices. Not a bad weeknight wine.

Pours a bright, clear ruby red. First nose opens up with pure red fruits: raspberry and strawbery. Then blueberry and cherry. Light/medium bodied with smooth, juicy flavors echoing the nose. With some air, I start picking up some wood, flowers, cinnamon, clove. Bit of leather, maybe. Fair amount of acidity at this point. Tannins light and fine grained. Fairly deep purple, more than expected. Straightforward, light red fruit aromas of cherry and strawberry, along with a small amount of spice, and faint earthiness that became more prevalent the next day. Palate offers more of the same, basic, tart cherry with a light body and a bit more heat on the finish than I would expect for a 12.5% wine. Decent.
