I tend to recoil from wines made in the general Bordeaux appellation, as they tend to be cheap, generic, and created for the broad international market, but this blend of 80% Merlot and 10% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Franc, made by a team that includes (as the label says, no doubt to emphasize the credibility of this "Bordeaux") the co-owner of Château Angélus (a Saint-Émilion grand cru classé), is a counterpoint to any such stereotype. Sediment as to be expected. Strong cassis smell , oak, potting soil ,and black fruits that translated on the palate. As time goes by a hint of potpourri and some green notes comes out. Some dry tannins are there still at the end but food helps with that.

Appearance: dark garnet with visible age, medium legs. Nose: Oak, leather, forest floor, floral notes as well Palate: smooth, balanced, beautiful. Complex notes of oak and mushrooms with some lingering berries like black berry and blue berry. Really complex and well done. Drink now.

Rare selon moi. Petit bémol... Bon au repas, ensuite ça s'essouffle rapidement!
