Airfield Estates Cabernet Sauvignon Runway Vineyard

Surprisingly good wine. It was light for a cabernet sauvignon, but well balanced.

Black fruit with some soft cherry to it on the nose. Tastes like solid Yakima Cabernet with a bigger back bone to it.

They felt like this was a really good vintage for them. Has the Washington fruit character - dark, black, good structure, shows its oak. Its good, but what is the price? At $20 its all in the house - works it out. Needs a better name and label though! Actually, maybe it does have a little bit of smoke taint to it. Lots of structure to it. Good concentration.

Vinturied into decant. A straightforward example here, pleasing on the nose and simple thru the finish. A great weekly drinker, and over delivers for the $$. Probably too young at this point. Drink now with decant thru 2026/8

Pretty good

some cherry fruit with a touch of medicinal to it. Simple on the palate. On second go around still medicinal and all right there.
