Hobel Wine Works Cabernet Sauvignon The Grain

Not bad for a 2017. In fact, pretty damn good. Decanted 90 minutes which was perfect. Strawberries and dark fruit. Not as jammy as other years that I've tried. It's ready, but could easily age a few more years.

A really good wine that shows better than anticipated, it’s a bold wine with nice berry flavors and extraction. Palate wise, there’s a nice array of dark berry fruits: blackberry, blueberry, dark cherry, hints of dark purple plum and boysenberries. This is a worthy wine for a vintage that has been challenging for some wineries, but clearly not for all of them.

Two hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Freeze dried strawberries, caramel, and lefsa (flat Swedish bread that you roll after coating with butter and jam). Smooth, dry palate, with good acidity. Quite impressive for a ‘17.
