Dark garnet colored, medium full bodied, firm, structured, yet ideally harmoniously balanced, nicely integrated black fruits accented by notes of black tea, spice box, hints of creosote, licorice and oak with firm yet approachable tannins on a lingering finish. Tonight, at twenty years of age, the important fill level and cork were pristine. Showing better than ever, still at the apex of its drinking window and several years to go at this level. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2024/06/robert-craig-affinity-bordeaux-blend.html

Mellow older wine. Past peak (this bottle from Winebid.com) but enjoyable nonetheless.

This ten year old 2004 remains consistent with earlier tasting notes, deep dark purple inky color, the ripe berry fruit aromatics, full body, ripe berry fruit, accented by a undercurrent of caramel are starting to give way to a layer of anise, tobacco, leather and firm full tannins on the long fruit filled finish. Tasted from a 375 ml split. In this smaller format, it may be starting to show its age. http://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2014/04/robert-craig-napa-valley-affinity-2004.html

Purchased at a local restaurant off their wine list. Judging by the cork and general bottle condition, it was perfectly stored. Popped and poured. Clear ruby color throughout. This wine was pretty tired... Had really nice notes of dark chocolate covered cherries, and a little tartness with some winter spice. The alcohol seemed to show more the longer it was opened. If you have any, time to drink up.

Deep purple, almost black. Lots of black cherry on the nose, with suggestions of spicy oak and cedar. The first glass was dominated by concentrated black cherries, creamy oak, and a big thick wool blanket of tannins. After two hours of air, things had settled down a bit. The spice and vanilla from the oak were still noticeable, but receded enough that more nuance was appreciable, with blackberry liquor and a pleasant coffee note chiming in. This is still a …

Purple/black, cedar/oak, cherry/blackberry, lenghty finish and real presence for this price point.

Not decanted--opened and poured. Wow, what a difference from the previous wines. I sampled this after a formal tasting of aged Brunellos and Barolos, and this was about as different as they come. After the acid, nuance, and earthiness of the previous wines, this one seemed exaggerated in almost every way: huge ripe fruit extraction, mild acidity, creamy oak (spice cake) and dark berries, lush mouth feel and heavy-bodied with high alcohol. It was a bit over the top for …

Nowhere near as good as the first 2 bottles. Fruit was fading a bit this time. But still an Excellent Cabernet

Full with dark mountain grown cherry fruit. Strong willed and with personality. Delicious. Works well indeed at $42. Bill says there is something going on with the nose that floats above everything and is pretty and feminine.

Pretty, dense fruit, with a bit of fresh, crisp, buttered green beans on the nose and palate. Warm and welcoming.

quite a bit of complexity. tar and violet and lightly scented deep berry nose. first in the palate, silky almost slick fruit and glycirine, hollow in midpalate, but spicy, tarry finish. develops in to a more integrated piece with great smoothness with complex notes. drinks like a $100 wine. ageablity not to be determined by this tasting.

This is outstanding. Big fruit.. some tobacco, and a little caramel. So smooth for a "young" Napa Cab.
