A bit of Brett takes away from this wine but still quite solid.

Past its peak, but still drinkable. Cross your fingers and hope for the best.

Surprising fruit for a bottle this age. At first, fruit on the nose (dark cherry, wild blackberry, smoky hints of chocolate) but none on the palate. Then, after open about an hour, especially in the glass, fruit on the palate. Very intense. Deep ruby color, great legs. High alcohol. Delicious.

Surprised by this wines balance and robustness despite being 8 years old. Remains fruit forward and a pleasure to drink. I would doubt it has anymore appreciation in the bottle

Had a very sweet, fruity taste and a long finish. Seghesio makes a terrific Zin at a modest price point.

Enjoyed a double magnum with a bunch of friends at a local favorite Bistro, along with a variety of tasty appetizers. What a great way to start the holiday season. Nice wine, that has held up very well. Rich dark color, spicy fruit, good balance and smooth finish. Fantastic for a Zin!

Dark and savory with a nose that initially smells almost Super Tuscan, opening with sweet marasca cherry, bitter chocolate, cedary oak, and damp forest soil. Unmistakable on the nose, however, and then later on the palate is the heat of alcohol; this wine is so hot it literally burns both the nose and palate. Still, the flavors here are so appealing, and the palate minus the heat, so delicious, round, and full. 89-91

Nice wine! This zinfandel is well balanced with nice fruit and tannin with a peppery finish. It needed about 30 minutes to open up, then was nice just to drink with friends. Not as much fruit as the Seghesio Sonoma Zins. The Old Vine will appeal to those wanting more of a subtle fruit and tannin balance.

Jammy, peppery, dark fruit, and a little kick of heat. Nicely done. The Old Vine is always one of my Seghesio favorites.

Much better on its own instead of compared to the 2007 Sonoma County. It's much more subtle and elegant but with a nice attack.

Exceptional wine. Nose of black currant and some smoked ham. Taste is a great balance of fruit, spice, tannin. Good pepper on the finish. Awesome wine.

Inky purple color. Dark fruit and espresso aroma. Dark plum, chocolate and leather on the pallet. Nice long finish with just a little spice and heat. A perfect pairing with Michael Chiarello's baby backed ribs with espresso BBQ sauce http://www.napastyle.com/recipe/recipe.jsp?productId=2691

Much better than I anticipated. Great black fruits with brambly overtones. Some spice and leather. Nice Zin with not too much heat. Fruit is the primary element here. Very dark and inky. Do not allow this to get on a white Formica counter top! Enjoyed. Nice job Ted.

Pop and pour. Its first nose is very expressive: dark fruits, blueberry, chocolate, espresso and a touch of spices. Just the right amount of oak. Very masculine and bold on the palate, with the same flavours as the nose. Lots of substance. Well balanced considering its alcohol level. More delicate after an hour. Not worth its price, but still a great wine, made to please now.

Went really well with grilled pork chops. Excellent fruit up front with enough spice to hold up and compliment the grilled meat.

I pick up lots of full, ripe dark red berries with a little sting coming from the side when smelling it. Upon tasting it's a full-bodied fruit driven Zinfandel with a little bit of jam, a little pepper and some fire. It's silky smooth and I feel some sweetness from the ripe to almost over-ripe berries. It's a little more grown up and less fruity/jammy than the 2006 Sonoma County I recently had, but not better. This one's a little …
