Rustic Garnet in color Lots of red and dark berries. Some red licorice. High acidity and tannin. Longish finish. Not a particularly engaging or exciting wine, but it does fit the bill. Classically made. Could improve with some more age.

Elegant Tuscan red showing black fruit, earth, and floral notes. Medium to full-bodied and refined.

Bright almost opaque purple - ruby colour. Very inviting nose, mostly herbal with discernible olive flavours and a candied element. The oak treatment is very subtle and almost non existent. On the palate it's elegant, fresh and light-footed not showing the 14.5 % alcohol. Overall a balanced and easy going wine however lacking complexity. A bit overpriced for what it offers imho.

Decanted about 1,5-2 hours. Deep purple color. On the nose herbal notes, green paprika, some black dried fruits (plums, blackberry). With the time, tobacco leafs, earthy notes emerge. On taste, mid to full body medium acidity gives a very good hint of freshness. Smooth tannins, emerge a bit after decanting. Intense and mid to long finish, more on the herbal/grass tone than on a fruity tone. Different layers of complexity, this is an excellent wine that can very well evolve …

This went with my wife to The Women Who Wine Event. Rumor has it it was really good. I trust the source.

Deep ruby. Intensely flavoured with rich ripe blackberry and cassis, as well as dark florals and bouquet garni, and cloves, vanilla, and toast. A powerful one, yet pleasurable!

2 hour decant. Mid crimson. Cassis, tobacco, and a floral element on the nose. Fairly long on the palate. Full-bodied and concentrated. A little out of balance at this point - could use a few years to allow the tannins to resolve. With the way prices are going with the SuperTuscans these days, might be considered good value.

Cabernet Franc in the lead! Whew, that has a nose. That is pretty darn discombobulated.

still pretty tannic. A little bit of forest on the nose at first, then more mint and more sweet fruit later once it opened up more.

very fruity, sweet, ripe, forest, potpourri, smoky. A little too bitter on the palate. Not what I expected.

Even better than the previous bottle. Rich and concentrated, with complex flavors dominated more by savory than fruit notes. Bright acidity, some oak, but fairly well integrated. Kind of reminds me of a Napa/Sonoma Bordeaux style blend, but with that typical Italian structure and acidity.

Really good wine. Spice, blueberries, cedar and minerals. Really complex and long finish. Should benefit with some cellar time. Decanted 1 hour.

Slightly sweet, vanilla oak, black cherry. Some minor complexity, and it was improving in the glass.

Nice fruit on nose; hint of vanella, but a bit over-oaked. Rich full bodied with blue fruit. Some harshness in mid palate. Lots of dry tannins, but not oppressive. Easy casual drinker, but not up to some of the ratings.

Minneapolis Wine Club - Tuscany Featuring Super Tuscans & a Few More (Tracy's, Mpls) : Very dark purple red color. Decanted for 1 hour. Drank a 2oz pour over 60 minutes. Blend of 35% CF, 32% CS, 25% M, and 8% PV. This took a little glass time to resolve, it started off quite herbal and showed some alcohol on the finish. Remarkably, that character was completely gone within about 10 minutes. The damp earth really emerges on the nose …

I concur with cliffkol and Matt Scotts' tasting notes. We definitely got the blackberry, mocha, tobacco, and toasted oak, with a hint of vanilla. I would add that with the initial bouquet we got a floral nose such as roses. But that gave way to the other flavors. Will revisit soon. It became very tannic after 1 1/2 hours. I do not believe that it evolve much more. But we will find out because we have one more bottle left.

Medium bodied, with dark red fruit, laced with fine tannins, a subtle spiciness, and racy acidity. Has a bit of an earthy quality as well, that lends it a certain distinctive character, unlike some super Tuscans that can seem a bit overengineered, with all the rough edges smoothed out.

slightly more acidic that prior bottles. (9/17/12 and 1/28/12) resulting in rank reduction. Not as balanced as expected. Still deep, concentrated, full dark fruits.

Fruity, earthy bouquet. Really nice. The wine has matured since our last tasting, 1/2012. Tannins are more resolved and balanced. Wine is more elegant, silky. Ripe dark berries, oak, earth. Nice acidity. Long, smooth finish. Decanted over an hour. Very nice!

Decanted for two hours. A sanguine-black and a rim of crimson. Copious amounts of blackberry, mocha, tobacco, toasted oak and cherry. Lovely structure that has a berry aftertaste. Long and I enjoy the smoothe tannins, while showing prudent acidity. Drink 2013 - 2023.

opens up beautifully with air, fresh blueberry and forest on the nose, soft on the palate, showing immediate sweet red fruit on the attack, chocolate, espresso, mocha, black cherries and vanilla, dry finish, well made and balanced between oak, fruit, acid and body, harmonious, absolute pleasure to drink, had with a fire roasted tomato layered meatloaf

Forward fruits on the nose, expressive and lively. Rich and layered on the palate, deep flavors of dark berries, earth, smoke. Tannins let you know they are there, gripping and well balanced. Silky, beautiful. Would expect this to improve even more over a couple more years. Anna enjoyed. Doris and Jessica liked, but enjoyed the 01 Geppetti Fattoria Le Pupille better since tannins were more resolved.

Cabernet Franc notes with spicy hints on the nose leading to good balanced fruit and tannins. Lovely fine grained tannins which aid pleasurable drinking now. I think it would evolve quite nicely over the next couple of years.

A lot of hung meat and soy on the nose with rhubarb and blackcurrant fruit. Also some nice floral elements showing nicely. Elegant style on the palate with black currant and a little rhubarb. A little pine on the mid-palate with well integrated tannins on the finish. Well balanced with a fair amount of acidity. Okay wine but nothing special.

Dark red center with a red hue. Fruity nose with notes of rhubarb, cherry and blackcurrant. On the palate the blackcurrant dominates the fruit, but the rhubarb note is still present. Juicy with delicious sweetness but also a tightness that gives it a hard edge, some oak and bitterness on the midpalate and finish. Good lively acidity. Nice wine, but it didn’t leave me overly excited.
