Fennel and anis in every wine today, so that has to be me. No, actually, here its the Petite Verdot coming up on the nose. Making it higher tonned and a little clipped with tannins on the back. Meaning the bitterness, which I don't believe will go away, holds. Otherwise a harmonious Bolgheri blend with a little bit of flash, and a little bit of classiness. Average in quality, average in value at $60. Definitely fits nothing not to like, …

I found this rather heavy and clumsy. No cab franc lift. Feels like it is trying a bit hard and has lost elegance along the way. Ready.

a bit green on the nose -- suspect that's from the 20% cabernet franc. blows off with time. lots of iron, iodine, ripe dark black fruit. Revisit in 3-5 years, as the oak needs more time to integrate. EXCELLENT value at $45. Would love to blind taste side-by-side with Sassicaia.

Deep purple colour. Mix of dark red and black fruit on the nose with violet. Freshness and structure on the palate. Youthful tannins with pronounced bitterness. Long finish. Some might say it is too early but I like it. The unresolved tannins and fruitiness work for me.

still quite youthful but already at the beginning of its drinking window. Silk texture normally typical of higher level Bolgheri, balanced tastes and elegance. Fruit still alive and kicking waiting for tertiary scents, A nice discover which may only improve over time

Dark cherry fruit with a touch of black pepper but also a good freshness. There is plenty of tannins and the wine is in a decent balance. Could use a few years to mellow out or a 4-6 hour decant. But, a classic and solid wine.

Not decanted, just a brief moment in the glass. A good wine that in my view can be drunk already. Additional time in the cellar will possibly make it even better. 91 pts. at the moment.

Nice supertuscan blend with complex notes of ripe red fruit and some gentle oak. The wine is well balanced and the overall sense is pleasantness and class. Will sure improve with some additonal cellaring but very enjoyable right now. After a long bike ride on Lago Maggiore and Lago di Lugano

Wine is pleasant enough, tasty, not overly complex. Dusty tannins, good dark berry fruit (but not sweet berry fruit, more bitterness) with some stewed fruit on the finish. Herbal notes. Finish also showing some bitter tea. Medium length finish.

Blend: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% merlot, 10% cabernet franc. ABV: 14.5% Color: Purple but not opaque. Nose: Alcohol is prominent, but also the presence of dark berries. Palate: Full-bodied, beef-and-potatoes wine. Short. Mostly one-note. But if you're not too demanding, then it's a lot of fun, gives plenty of pleasure.

I held this for two years past purchase based on feedback from others on here. I agree it could sit longer and it doesn’t drink like a cab franc, closer to a merlot. It is a nice wine, but it isn’t bold like a cab franc typically is. Day 2 it was a touch more like a cab franc. Still, a very enjoyable wine. We drank on day one with an oxtail ragout and it paired nicely.

This wine certainly represents the Cabernet Franc varietal in a very compelling and elegant way. Tonight, there is an abundance of elegant fruit combined with lovely subtle green tones, which disappears after some time in the glass. The palate is profoundly integrated and balanced. Tannins are present but well-behaved and feels like they are becoming more and more integrated as the wine opens up in the glass. This effort is certainly lovely and without the slightest doubt it deserves all …

A singleton that's been loitering in my cellar. Savoury and spicy, fennel, liquorice with a slight alcohol buzz. Prominent focussed blackcurrant from the Cab Franc element with the plum from the Merlot/Cab Sauv very much in the background. (Just) excellent now, but I suspect if held a couple of years could easily hit the 91/92pt level when better integrated/balanced. 91+?+

Big dark fruit nose of cassis, blackberry and plum. Stewed dark fruits and earth on the palate with nicely balanced acidity and modest tannins. Starting to come together now but fruit still predominates for me. The next day remains start to approach that Bordeaux type balance of austere fruit, acidity and tannins with nothing "standing out" but still retain that unmistakable earthiness of most Italian wines.

This wine just keeps impressing me. It superbly represents the Cabernet Franc varietal in a truly compelling and elegant way. Massive elegant fruit combined with subtle and adorable green tones, which seem to mellow as time passes. The palate is totally integrated and balanced. Still the tannins do speak up at the end, but in a pleasant way. This effort is truly impeccable and without the slightest doubt it represents very skilful winemaking.

Weekly tasting group #164; A fully blind test. (@ SB) : In the bouquet red berries, sweet spices and some menthol. On the palate dark forest fruits, some chocolate, ok acidity and soft tannin. Overall a really good and full bodied wine. Don’t know the history of this bottle, but the wine was completely ready with a future of a few years.

Very deep ruby. Small wild berries, green pepper, cut grass, tobacco, licorice, herb liqueur, fennel seeds, mediterranean herbs. Toasted of oak. Flashy at palate, hot of alcohol and spice, sustained by a prominent acidity - helped with a service temperature of about 19 c - and bold tannins. Long fruity finish.

A spectacular and brilliant interpretation of the Cabernet Franc varietal. The 2007 Dedicato a Walter provides a fleshy exhuberant fruit combined with subtle and lovely green tones. The first impression is dill, but after a few minutes the unmistakable tone of Cabernet Franc emerges. The nice part of this effort is that the green tones are kept at armlengths distance thanks to the rich fruit. The palate is beautiful and the youth of this effort is nicely handled by a …
