This was closed on the first day - I don't think the '06's are ready for me. On the second day, this was a lovely wine. Subtle and delicate, ripe and rich with juicy cherry, spice and dusty earth. Everything I love about California Pinot. I opened this as a test, to see if it was ready to give to someone. Alas, she's not ready so she stays with me... darn! Boutique California Wine with Bacchus Wine Society (Hertford College, Oxford) : Quite pure clean fruit, a slightly candied strawberry laces nose, lots of heat on the palate and you can taste the alcohol, but this dies down over ap eriod of hours and beautiful vibrant fruit comes through. Needs a little time to resolve. 14.7% alc, 11 months in 100% French oak. 250 cases made. ~ $45

06 Pinot : Herbal with some EA/VA- stressed fermentation smells? Hot with cooked fruits and a strange sweet n' sour character. Soft in the mouth with some oak shadings and strange flatness? Not my favorite.
