A bit candied initially, and more red fruited on the nose and palate than I'd expect from Morey. Settles down and becomes darker and a bit less candied, but retains a bit too much of the slightly robitussin note for my personal preference that's a touch distracting. Otherwise in a nice place to drink - tannins are in a pretty happy place.

Correct color. Mixed berries on the nose. Succulent cherry, rhubarb compote on the palate. No hint of the warmth of the vintage; picked just right. Good length. Excellent Premier Cru experience.

Another 18mo since last bottle has done this well. More iIntegrated, red berries and flowers now coming through with some nutmeg and cinnamon notes. A little spice and pepper on finish with nice acidity but definitely has softened some edges since last bottle.

Funky. Nice raspberry and rhubarb with some smoked bacon fat but the funk and wood are center stage. More time needed to integrate. Tannins are medium with a nice core of red berry fruit on the finish leading with tart acid. Had a little Day 2 and this had much wood overtones.

It had a somewhat heavy-handed feel to it, but more in a winemaking sense than in terms of its underlying fruit material - it started out deep and extracted, very dense and full-bodied with prominent oak toast and somewhat edgy tannins. So gorgeous three nights ago that I had to have another bottle tonight. This was nice but not a patch on how Thursday's bottle struck me. This was quite tight, fine elegant Morey, cherry fruited, a hint of smoky oak. Much leaner than on Thursday.

Lignier-Michelot Visit and Tasting (Morey St.-Denis) : Tasting at winery. To me this was a big step up from the MSD Charmes just tasted. Perfumed nose, already showing the best elements of whole cluster. Starts with wild strawberry and raspberry aromas, flavors then also a bit more red cherry.
