Spring Mountain Vineyard Chardonnay

Opened and left on ice about 45 minutes before drinking. It’s still going strong. Good crispness and lemon, more Sauvignon Blanc in nature. We enjoyed it.

Didn’t let it breath long enough to rate it as high as my last bottle. So it’s on me to do better with the next.

Had with fish cakes and potato leek soup. Gold in the glass, aromas of roast pineapple, lemon curd, baked green apple, vanilla, and some oaky spicy notes- feels like it's trying to go after a hybrid of Meursault and Montrachet. In the mouth, the wine is very clean, round and supple fullish body, with a nice acidic lift on the finish. Fresh, fairly precise. Good acidity, but drinking well now with food.

Almost colourless. Very intensely lime-driven nose, but also musky and even smoky. Surprisingly approachable taste, good sweetness and acidity. Perhaps a little too sweet for discerning palates, but very drinkable and rather fun. [Screwcap; 13.5% abv; Scotmid (Co-op), £6.99].
