snipes does Dallas (Daniele Osteria, Dallas, TX) : WIML92+ Tasted non blind. Opened and served immediately. Followed over about two hours. Garnet to perhaps dark garnet color in the glass, fairly clear looking. Nose of leather, earth, black berries, black cherries and a hint of camphor. Flavors of black berries and black cherries. Medium to bright acidity, medium tannins, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.

This is a son-in-law wine: not what I expected but turned out OK. Decanted for about 2 hours. Initially did not like the color, kinda muddy red with brown overtones. Cleared up and drank well with seasoned grilled steaks.

Wines in Cleveland with Loren and Friends (Cleveland, OH) : Browning, sweet dark plums on the nose. Soft and lovely palate and mouthfeel. I liked this. Thought it was US.

Food, in particular soft cheese, brought out complexity nicely.

Nice rich red with plum and ripe fruits. Had an interesting almost leathery linger, but it drank really, really well on its own or with softer cheeses.

Tasted March 16, 2005 at an offline so brief comments only. Opened and served immediately in Spiegelau Authentis Magnum glasses. Dark garnet turning towards purple in color, clear throughout. Extremely tight nose that just wasn’t giving up much other than some cherries and spruce. Flavors were a little more forthcoming with cherries, raspberries and earth. I think this wine would have showed a little better with at least one hour in the decanter for future reference. I’ll say drink now …

Dark garnet colour. Aromatic, smoky/toasty, roasted nose with earth, leather, black cherry and clove. Full and assertive palate with great flavour replays and firm, ripe tannins. Very long, evolving finish. 5/5

A young, young wine in need of much aging. A beautiful complex fruit filled nose. Not showing much on the palate now. Some cherry and dusty notes. 90-91.
