ded.reckoning No. 12 Reserve

Upgrade a point for the previous toastiness mellowing out. 12/14/2019 Note: Like many of Charlie’s Red Mtn Cab blends (61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc). Good points on dark fruit flavors, acid and tannins in balance; finishes long, but a bit too toasty.

Mellowed somewhat over the last four years, but still featuring significant over extraction. While I do not care for the style, it is a recognized style nonetheless, and thus the score.

Pnp. A Charlie Hoppes red blend. Red and blue fruits. Chocolate and Vanilla. Long moderately dry finish. For me, ready to go now. Good qpr. Would cost $20 more per bottle and probably be wine club only if the bottle graced an etched Fidelitas logo.

Had over 3 days and enjoyed the last glass the most with ribeyes. Big and bold with ripe lush fruits, nice barrel accents some leather and dust with good tannic structure.

Big nose and taste profile of red flowers, ripe red and purple fruit, and toasted oak. Medium acid, light tannins. Not my preference but a likely crowd pleaser. Solid QPR for the style.
