Cork was soaked and top had evidence of some seepage. Darn short cork for an Auslese! Ullage was fine. Smells great. Stone fruits. Some stones. More yellow gold than green gold in color. Tiny hint of petrol. Mango. Papaya. Fairly viscous. Sweet. Mostly tastes like it smells. Big and delicious. Concentrated. Botrytis. Best served as a dessert wine. 9% abv.

Bottle had a tiny bit of seepage. Ullage was fine. It had a few bubbles when first poured. It might have caused the seepage. Beautiful greenish golden color. A whiff of petrol on the nose along with minerals and some tropical fruits. Tastes like it smells. Big, rich, long. A blast of acidity on the finish. Still sweet, but not cloying.

Golden yellow honey color in the glass. Luxurious, voluptuous fruit, pineapples, peaches, and honey. Sweet but not overly so. Vibrant, crisp acidity. Lovely round mouth feel. Paired well with Thanksgiving turkey.

A good friend brought out a bottle of this last night, and it showed very, very well. I expect that it was farther along than might have been, as it did not come from a pristine cellar. All that being said, the wine was a delicious mix of ripe tropical fruit, a touch of honey and a distinct note of black tea. As a combination it was magnificent. Ten years of age brought the sweetness into harmony with the lower …

Shut down right now. It needed two hours to come out of its shell and deliver some of its honeyed fruits. Time to let this wine rest in the cellar.

Unyielding at first, but with air opened out to show honey-drenched white fruits, pineapples and minerals on the nose and palate. Elegant, long and really delicious (although this really needs to be left alone for a while).

Started out a little closed, but the nose opened out beautifully with time, first showing layers of honey, peach, nectarine, pineapple and later taking on an intensely mineral slate-dominated character. Just as stunning in the mouth - lots of pineapple, redcurrants and peaches drenched in honey and minerals with bright acidity and a sense of real vibrancy in the mouth. Very long, creamy finish - this was just outstanding.
