Dark purple. While the nose is dominated by cedar, chocolate, and pipe tobacco, there is a hint of black cherry juice peeking through. Great extracted black fruit flavors, but not overly so. Juicy, but not too fruit forward. Great structure. Thin body. Long length.

Medium purple. The nose is of welcoming yet pronounced aromas of truffles, wet forest floor, and oak. These notes are followed by blueberries, sage, and spices. As the wine sits in the glass and with some coaxing it quickly loosens its shyness. The palate is fresh with very fine tannins, a marked fruit presence on the mid palate, and a sharp acidic twist on the back. This is a well made wine, even if the palate seems a bit unbalanced. …

High altitude Malbec is special. Colome is another Salta and widely available worth the search/find. Dark fruit, blueberries and tasty! ESPECIALLY @ $10 a bottle. Best Buy!!!

Decent weekday drinker. Mid weight, nothing special but good mix of black fruits with mild acidity.

Bought 2 back Jan and the first one was unremarkable. Popped the other last night and was pleasantly surprised. Tasty dark fruits, nice mouthfeel and long finish. Excellent for under $10. Will be on the look out for more.

2016 Amalaya Malbec (Argentina) (28/5/2019) About as multidimensional as Trump’s vocabulary but nonetheless a very pleasant easy quaffing fruit dominant plum bomb. Nicely integrated acidity and soft tannins. Try it with your Beyond Meat burger.

Full and dense, dark fruit, roundness and intensity that is typical of Salta Malbec.

I found this very enjoyable. Not too much complexity but good plum fruit some choc and hint of pepper with the Tannat and Petit Verdot. Not jammy but smooth drinking great for crowds. Can't really go above 90pts just because it was only $10 LOL.

When a wine is less than $15 (I think I got this for close to $10) and checks all the boxes of ripe fruit, some hint of secondary complexity, and avoidance of jamminess or heat, it’s a win. This had a bit of reduction which blew off and revealed peppery dark fruit/dark chocolate aromas with a slightly more red-fruited, strawberry palate. A touch of pepper or maybe salinity in the finish. Great for the price. Great second day too, bigger …

Rich and smooth, notes of dark fruit(plum, figs) and dark chocolate. Tannat and Petit Verdot add more backbone to the wine. Solid Malbec for the price.

Rich purple color. Aromas are plummy and full of blackberry, along with mocha, incense cones, charcoal and scorched earth. Medium+ bodied with smooth tannins and medium acidity. Tart plums and black currants mix nicely with roasted coffee, rocky soil, notes of cedar and vanilla. Fun stuff but it shows some moderate complexity. Includes 10% Tannat and 5% Petit Verdot.

Aromas of plum, fruitcake, cherry and a touch of leather. Flavors of plum, cherry, boysenberry and but of earth. Ends with a 15+ second finish with plum notes. A nice Malbec for the price.
