Chateau Ramafort, Medoc

50% Merlot, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.5% vol. Another 2 bottles still in perfect shape, PnP. Open from the first minute with mature notes of leather and forest floor underlayered with dark berry fruit, still fresh, good mouthfeel and long finish. We highly enjoyed it with bred and cheese, unfortunately there was no third bottle left.

PnP, cork was still in a perfect shape, needed about 30 minutes in the glass to open. Still alive with nice tertiary notes and black current, good freshness, medium to full bodied, smooth tannin, long finish. Mature old school Médoc with moderate alcohol level at 12.5% vol. and at a nice place now, for sure not at premium level but surprisingly good for its reputation and not at all at the end of its journey.

Blackberries, smoke, cherries and cedar create the perfume. On the palate, the wine is soft, round, floral and fruity, leaving you with fresh, elegant currants and a dollop of cocoa in the mid-palate and in the medium-bodied finish. The wine is a blend of 50% Merlot with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon. Drink from 2023-2035.

89-91 vvPunkte Feine Würze, pfeffrig, kühl, dunkle Frucht, kreidige Noten. Im Gaumen dicht, kompakt, frisch und saftig, mittlerer Körper, gute Struktur, wirkt gradlinig, sehr gut strukturiert, mit markanten, reifen Gerbstoffen und gut verpackter Säure, das hat Lebensfreude und Charme, Präzision und Charakter. Floral with loads of red plums and red currants, the wine is medium-bodied, bright and fresh, with a juicy red berry and savory herb filled finish. You can enjoy this on the young side. 87-89

Medium tawny in the glass indicates the age, aromas and palate are driven by tertiary, fruits have been lost with time, dry, high acid, leather, fig, prune, musty, barnyard, earth, kerosene, this wine is too old and just drinking as "off". WSET3 tasting

Plateau. Belle complexite. Peu de profondeur.

Not in good form, off putting aromas, fruit buried in green stems and rocks. dumped.

Belle évolution. Encore fermé à l'ouverture, mais s'est stabilisé après 30 minutes. Plus belle bouteille des 3 consommées à ce jour. Le nez était très beau dès le début. Méritait d'être attendu.
