Nice brioche on the nose. Pale yellow and active small bubbles. Lemon curd on the palate. And faintly white pepper. Enjoyable with fried chicken and by itself.

Scent: Limestone, chalk, light raspberry. purplish light flowers, little bit of rose. Taste: Light raspberries, sour strawberries, light mineral, light lemon zest. Nice, refreshing and easy to drink. The 08 and 15 was better tough.

Lot L302006177, disgorged september 2025. Generous and elegant, stylish and silky, beautifully defined, perfect weight, comfortable dosage (8-9 gr/l these days), gentle bitters, expressive and subtle, lemon cream, toast and spice, hazelnut and stone fruit, flowers and red apple, firm structure, excellent resonance and length. Poised. A reference. Perfect Easter breakfast Champagne.

Pol Roger 'White Foil' aged for 4 years in the wine cave. Not as good as the last bottle from just over a year ago. Still very primary, with bright citrus lemon, white peach and red apple and just a hint of those yeasty, brioche, bakery notes from extended lees aging. Lots of effervescence and a good strong long lasting mousse.

Über 3 Stunden getrunken, incl. Temperierung auf ca. 15 Grad. Im Glas lachs-bis erdbeerfarben, feine Perlage, subtiles Bukett nach hellen roten Früchten, floral, am Gaumen anfangs mit etwas stärkerer Säure, zunehmende Harmonisierung, zarte Hefenoten, Erdbeere, Himbeere, rote Johannisbeere, alles an seinem Platz, wirklich Brut ohne Süßeschwänzchen. Empfehlung!

(16/20) Classic and excellent Champagne, but I find this magnum has a bit aggressive mousse. Blend of 1/3 each Chardonnay, Meunier and Pinot Noir. Aged sur lattes on the bottle for 4 years. Disgorged in July 2024. Medium intense aromas of white blossom, pear, white grapefruit, lemon, white peach, toast, pastry, brioche, almond. Dry wine, high acidity, light body, pronounced flavour intensity, long finish. 12,5% ABV - Champagne tasting @ JdW

Composed and quietly confident, this classic blend of Pinot Noir, Meunier, and Chardonnay opens with crisp apple, pear skin, and lemon zest, layered with brioche, raw almond, and a touch of honeycomb. Fine, satin-textured mousse carries citrus, white peach, and toasted hazelnut across a chalk-tinged frame. Creamy yet precise, with bright acidity and a subtle saline snap on the finish, it’s balanced, poised, and effortlessly drinkable — Champagne that resonates rather than shouts. Above average in quality.

I’ve started to venture into the entry-level stuff after having only tried the prestige cuvées of many houses. Seeing what offers best value for my particular palate in the ~$60/btl range. Saw this Pol Roger and decided to go for it; disgorged 2/24. Bright fruit aroma pops out on the nose, driven primarily by pear, green and yellow apple, and a lower level underlying citrus resembling lemon syrup. Twinge of sulfur. There is some brioche-like element here but it is …

a golden-straw color, characterized by a creamy, fine mousse. It features aromas of pear, mango, white jasmine, and brioche. The palate offers a harmonious balance of cooked fruits (quince, apricot), honeysuckle, and a persistent, slightly spicy, and toasty finish. TA 92 CA92

Really nice balance of brioche with a mildly unctuous backbone and light sweet citrus. Much better after some time in the glass and as the temperature of the wine warms in the glass. Balanced. Definitely not a blanc de blancs.

Medium blood orange color. Drank a couple glasses over 90 minutes. Cherry, amaretto, briary, pastry cream, dried cherry, fresh bread, raspberry, fine chalk, nice clean and long on the finish. This was showing very well. I always worry about the PR Rose needing some time, but this was in a great spot already. 93+ to 94pts.

Golden yellow, vigorous mousse. Fresh clean initial brine on the nose, faint buttery brioche appears. Crisp taste, richness behind, mousse supportive. Lovely Champagne to celebrate H's 18th (a day early). Good quality as always. Becomes richer as it goes down. Nice.

Kept this bottle for over ten years. When opened got almost no pop - just a tiny sigh. But the wine was excellent - honey yellow, bread and yeast with great fruit and a long finish. Not a vintage wine but quite excellent.

Been sampling multiple champagnes of various styles and this along with the Charles Heidsieck brut reserve have been spectacular values, enough complexity and balanced freshness hits the sweet spot for sure and now both in the house rotation! The historical Churchill hype has been validated!

Christmas 2025; 12/24/2025-12/26/2025 (Bosham, E Dulwich, Muswell Hill) : TWS 150th anniversary edition, disgorged 04/24. Cannot fathom why this NV is always so bad when the Pol vintage/prestige wines are frequently so good. Very sweet (to the extent that 'muggles' commented on it), relatively uninteresting apple-driven fruit, forgettable finish. Drinkable, but so is Prosecco. Two bottles drunk with consistent results.

Pol Roger roses always give immense pleasure for us. Perfectly balanced between the fruit and acid, with a perfectly calibrated dosage to smooth things out. Deep salmon pink color. Typical small PR bubbles. Nose is floral and berries, no evident autolysis. Palate is strawberry, cranberry, blood orange, chalk. All the elements are carried so well on the fruit and structure, still very fresh and can imagine 5-10 years of development making this even more interesting. Glad to have 4 more …

Aperitif before Ina Garten's Grilled Tuna Nicoise Platter. Consistent with prior notes. Fine perlage. Brioche, pear, apple, and a little not off-putting mustiness. Light viscosity on the palate, with lemon and gravel. Finishes with and chalk. Another reviewer mentioned a Grape-Nuts note: there was something I couldn't quite quantify, and that's it. Consistently very good.

Fresh rosé colour. Scents of strawberry, quite sweet but very far from too sweet. Vibrant in the mouth, with good mousse, crisp acidity and very good persistence. I've had poor versions of this wine (2002 was a disaster), but this is excellent to outstanding.

Upon opening, quote savoury on the nose, with added undergrowth. Like a still pinot noir. The second glass showed more fruit, with raspberry and cranberry, very pure. The second glass had a burst of watermelon on the nose too. The palate added the undergrowth complexity to the fruit on the second glass, which also featured a light strawberry flavour on the tip of the tongue. Great florals on the nose and palette by the third glass. Outstanding complexity, length, and …

It wasn't an ideal situation for careful tasting or detailed notetaking, but I really liked this a lot. Fresh bread, white peaches, strawberries, minerals, and a brief flash of smoke in the center of the mouth. Lovely, and a perfect match for salmon. [Tasted from the Jancis Robinson glass.]

2012 Champagne vintage--served blind : Tasted yesterday and today (from the remnants of the wine that I stoppered overnight). No back label data but FWIW there is an etch that says L92752960E. This was opened and served late in the day, well after we had done at least a dozen bottles prior, but given that, …
