Quinta do Infantado Douro

Plommer/svisker, røde og mørke bær og litt fat på nesen. Stor munnfølelse, medium alkohol, god syre og medium tannin. Medium lengde. En fruktig vin som passet fint til burger. Kjøpt på gården.

red and black berries, floral overtones. deep purple almost all the way to the rim. there's a bit of tobacco and leather acting as bass notes. medium-long finish. still may have a few years left, still tastes very fresh and lively. excellent food wine. something about this feels a bit...rustic, which i really like. if bordeaux is a groom on his wedding day, this is the groom during the reception after a few drinks, no tie, doing the electric slide.

Violets. Licorice. Creosote. Graphite. Juniper. Dry. All-around athlete. Proletarian. Flawless. Sturdy. Chiming lyrics. This is like retro $30 Bordeaux. A fantastic food wine. I tested it inadvertently with salted brassica stem hash–a challenge–and it effin’ flew. 91 points.

Decanted for 60 minutes, but the wine improved with even more air. A clear deep violet in color. Once open the wine presented a range of dark red fruits and earth on the nose. These followed on to the medium bodied palate along with some blue/black fruit, a bit of spice, balanced acidity, and just a touch of tannins on the finish. May continue to develop over the next couple of years, and probably hold for several more.

By the glass. Indefinite, extracted, perfumed by dozens of spices with sensations of cherries and plums. Abundant, velvety on the palate. Heavy and long. Lack of acidity and maybe excess of body. To close my particular Portuguese wines season. Por copas. Indefinido, extractado, perfumado por docenas de especias con sensaciones a cerezas y ciruelas. Abundante, aterciopelado al paladar. Pesado y largo. Falto de acidez y sobrado de cuerpo. Para poner cierre a mi temporada particular de vinos portugueses.

Opened one hour in advance. Pungent spice box aroma. Flavors of leather, tobacco, with black fruit underneath. Some vanilla in the finish. Robust, structured, firm backbone, some complexity, great staying power. Great now, with potential to become even greater.

Lots of structure on the nose. And allot of spice notes Julieta,Loads of tension and spice. Where will it go.
