This bottle, purchased in '06 and cellared since, is still hitting the mark. Plenty of fruit and life. As expected, there's been enough time for any tannins or acidity to be integrated into the body of the wine. Very pleasant, and probably a few years left for "good" bottles stored well.

Wow this wine is really over priced. You can get the exact same flavor profile from other labels in the area for half the price. The nose is dense with minerals and super ripe (almost rotten) plums and a hint of truffle oil. In the mouth it's medium body with ripe dark fruit and leather but not much else. For about $70 I expect a wine to deliver a little more depth.

This needs hours to decant. After about 90 minutes it begins to evolve. Softer tannins than normal for Diamond Mtn. Well balanced. Personally, I think this is nearing its peak.

Velvety on the palate with dark purple black fruit and soft tannin. Too velvety and open for a 2003? I think so. My $15 2005 Filliatreau Saumur-Champigny has twice the character and lift as this syrup. I guess this is thrilling wine for some people - not for me.

Decanted for 2 hours. Never lets me down. Fantastic fruit, complexity, depth and concentration. Little bit of spice. Tannis and acid in perfect balance.
