2007 France Trip - Pegau, Pierre Usseglio, Monpertuis, Vieux Telegraphe, Dinner w/ Philippe Cambie (Southern Rhone) : Tea, raspberries, and sous bois. Freshly chopped button mushrooms. Delicious and mature. Interestingly, this completely shut down within an hour or two after pouring. First the decanter, then one glass, then another glass started smelling like nothing. One of the stranger wine experiences I’ve had!

2007 France Trip - Les Gouberts, Clos des Cazaux (Southern Rhone) : Saw 18 months in barrel. Sous bois, sappy red fruits, tea, and forest floor. More Burgundian in character. Nice minerality and finesse. Delicious.

With Kathy and Miranda at home at dinner (beef tenderloin). Very dark ruby purple color. Great legs. Rich looking. Nose is pretty, with a fresh spring flower bouquet. Deeply fruited. Rich, fruity flavors. Peppery. Fine wine. 5-12-16-7: 90/100.
