An excellent wine. Bold with Dark fruit (blackberry) that moves to spice and a touch of pepper. Opened up incredibly well after about 30 minutes

Historic Pomerol Estates: An Evening at Château Beauregard and Château Petit-Village (Pomerol, France) : Dinner at Château Petit-Village in Pomerol with Lauren Laudrin and Vincent Priou. From double magnum. Vincent explained that 2010 is one of his favorite vintages—ranking just below 2022 in his personal hierarchy, alongside 2016, 2005, 1998. He noted the wine isn't yet at its peak, especially in this large format, and could age another 30-40 years. Château Beauregard's blend is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc—an …

Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon) : Medium expressive nose displaying subtle black and red fruit, blackberry, strawberry, dark chocolate, a hint of green, truffle, scorched earth and iron. There is a hint of metallic note. Medium concentration, subtle black and red fruit, silky and slightly lean, good acidity, iron mineral, nicely resolved tannins and a medium long subtle red fruit driven finish. There is no need to …

Simply outstanding and full of Pomerol Terroir! It is not a modernist style; but still presenting red to dark fruits (rasberry, blue and black berry). Only a 30 minute decant at a restaurant (recommend 1hr +) but it did open up in time for the steaks. Everyone at my table loved it. Oak is very much integrated and in check. Slightly chewy tannins in the beginning; but was erased once steaks were eaten. Yes, not a jammy/concentrated style. Rather; more …

Very good quality. Drink now, will not improve by further ageing, but can keep for some more years.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow";Bordeaux 2009 vs 2010 (By JS) : Still a slightly purple hue. In the bouquet still a bit locked but there are red and dark berries, sweet spices and sweet licorice. On the palate juicy dark berries, bell pepper and cherries, good and mild fresh acidity and tannin, a touch of sweetness and licorice. Beautiful wine, but not extremely concentrated.

Monthly Tuesday group "The Dead Sparrow";Bordeaux 2009 vs 2010 (By JS) : The color shows slightly brown impressions in the rim. In the bouquet sweet spices, forest, mocha and caramel. On the palate cherries, dark berries, sweet spices, herbs and spices, beautiful acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Not extremely complex. Beautiful wine in its early maturity stage.

Our container from Singapore 🇸🇬 arrived so time to celebrate, pairing it with a German rinds filet I bought on the other side of the rhine river. Decanted for 1.5 hours. Deep purple color. Vanilla, dark cherries, chocolate, espresso, sous bois and wet forest floor on the nose. Magnificent nose. Med acidity, med body, med alcohol, Med + flavor intensity, soft tannins, med finish. Quite a mouthful of cherries, a bit overwhelming on the vanilla and the oak to my …

Very enjoyable Bordeaux. Nose and notes of ripe red fruits, tobacco, graphite, cedar, forest and leather. Not overly fruity or tannic. Very balanced and integrated. Not overly bold and may lack punch with a richly flavored meal. Overall a lovely wine.

Despite what the technical sheet says on their website, it is 70% Merlot and 30% Cab Franc. Decanted 2 hours before consumption and highly recommended. Very funky - truffle, forest floor and a slight tannin dominant, it settled down and opened up with yummy mocha, stewed or sour cherries, fine tannin, very Merlot. But as the night progressed, the Franc came out to play adding perfume and spice to the wine. Finish was of good length without being spectacular but …

Very nice mature Pomerol close to, if not at peak. Decanted for 2 hours and back into cleaned bottle. Nose and notes of ripe red fruits, tobacco, graphite, mushroom, leather and forest floor. Medium bodied, with fresh acidity and tannins showing still, this is what I hope for in aged Bordeaux. Perfect with the ribeye. Time left.

All so true, what I read in the earlier TN’s. This is still on the young side. Dark purple in the glass with a very slight brownish edge. A great nose. Good fruit on the palate. The finish is still a bit sharp and dry/tannic. This can probably improve a bit in the coming years.

I don't detect much sign of evolution compared with my memory and TN of almost exactly three years ago but I was less overwhelmed. This may be a function of pairing (guinea fowl in a cream sauce sprinkled with whisky) but I felt the balance was more tilted towards acidity right through the bottle than previously. Otherwise the rest of my description still applies. Very Good.

I popped open this bottle on impulse, as I firmly believed it was ready to drink based upon my evaluation a few years ago. I had a big shock, taste was totally different from my past impressions (read my past notes if you care). Tight, slightly diluted albeit a bit forward, not ready, last night it was worth 4 stars at best. I put it in the fridge overnight, miracle happened, nose was totally different with more oak surfaced, palate …

Fine Wines SG - Bordeaux vs China BYO Dinner (Praelum Wine Bistro) : Medium ruby, slight rim variation, thick legs. A red bricky sense on the nose, to me rather typical of Pomerol, red cherry, wheat, hay, tar, and peat. High tannin and alcohol. Flavours of red cherry, red bell pepper, and leaf. A fair length

One hour decant. Deep brick red color, with the slightest hint of rim fade. Forest floor, bitter chocolate, cherry lozenge and maple on the nose. Smooth, earthy, tongue drying palate. Full, round tannins on the medium+ finish. Very nice Right Bank wine, but getting a bit too earthy for me.

Nice and easy drinking, very representative 20 year old right bank. Nothing super complex or impressive here, but nothing out of place. I loved 1998 on the right bank, so I expected a bit more fruit. This was tasting just slightly past prime, mostly leather and olive and earth. I would drink up.

On the nose, stone fruit, bitter chocolate, some wet leather, tobacco, brick, pencil lead, violets, and olive. On the palate, this is classically structured and finely detailed. More savory aspects come to the front, olives, some leafiness, more bitter chocolate, pencil lead, more so than the stony fruits that seem to complete the story. There is breadth, but this is not an expansive, palate overwhelming wine. There is lift and freshness to it. There is depth but with focus. It …

So now, this is the reason why I started to drink Bordeaux wines. A Beauregard 2000, and I aas looking forward for this one. Rib-Eye of a pound on grill was the partner. Decidet to open and pour, decant would be possible afterwards. First nose: Fishmarket! WTF? Again: Fishmarket. Let em breave for 10minutes: wet horse-saddle... well, better, but by far not the smell I was expecting from my previous experience. After 45min: opend up and gave me what Ib2as …

deeply colored, reddish ruby rim. aromatically very extroverted with lots of lead pencil black currant/raspberry and exotic oak spices... on the palate high acidity, firm mid palate, moderate amount to fine tannins, moderate alcohol. balanced wine with good length, intensity and complexity. for its price this is quite nice though i felt the cab franc more than the merlot for sure both in aroma and structure... certainly not an overripe merlot kind of wine (which for its price and vintage …

Last bottle – unless I can find a few more.... Would love to find a magnum or two. I’ve enjoyed this vintage and have followed this chateau ever since. Bottle stored in cool cellar upon purchase. Decanted bottle to reveal a significant amount of sediment clinging to the inside of the bottle. Oh man, I wish I had waited another year for even more sedimentation. Color is attractive and indicative of a wine that is in an adolescent stage. Nose …

I normally don’t touch my Bdx 09 yet, but on basis of WCI and below CT notes i tried the 09 Beauregard. A positive surprise. Dark, smooth, with silky tannins. Very much primary fruit driven. A long finish. Difficult to predict, if mote time will add complexity, or will start to fade away fruit.

accessible open nose. Rich and plummy red fruit. extract is here for sure make no mistake. Palette is smooth, powerful yet elegant with tons of red deep plummy fruit, hints of mint, mocca, cherry liquer and a balanced acidity. Oak is integrated and not as pronunced which I like. Its a chewy year - but at the right serving temperature its sazzy and deeply attractive. Well done! Why wait?!

Similar flavors as noted in 10/16. This time I decanted and the wine reached its stride after about 30 minutes of aeration. Like the previous notes, this wine has morphed since first released: the exuberant fruit has settled down and was replaced with a rich, but more structured wine. Quite nice to drink right now.

Right from first sniff on opening, it was clear that this was a winner. Colour was still quite deep and dark. The nose was a superb blend of mature red fruit with balsamic, tobacco and fine mushroom notes, like truffles and ceps. Palate was medium/full bodied with good length, rich but still lively red fruit, velvety texture, some forest floor development, backbone and at first quite marked acidity which integrated better as the wine got more air and warmed a …
