A lot of seeming age on this already, almost copper-colored. Lots of golden raisin, stonefruit, honey, and caramel. Honestly, a bit sticky for me, without a necessary hit of acidity for balance, but some pleasant and warming flavors.

Typical muscat notes with lots of black tea leave nuances. Classic style and great pairing with dessert. 93 points.

D5 DipWSET FORTIFIED WINES - home prep; 6/2/2022-6/3/2022 : A: Medium amber (its actually closer to orange) N: Pronounced nose of GRAPES, peach, tangerine, rosewater, honey. P: Sweet, medium acidity, no pb, low alcohol, pronounced intensity and a medium (+) finish. Sugar is the thing that lasts on the tongue and not the lovely flavors. Despite the acid level and the fact that I drank this at room temperature, this was not as cloying as I expected but still the …

This wine is just a pleasure to drink. Fruity, fresh, and incredibly well-balanced, it’s a Muscat bomb. The alcohol is barely noticeable and the sweetness is balanced by decent acidity and great concentration. It’s perfect for sipping but would also be lovely with a fruit pudding.

This is a classic. It has all the hallmarks of muscat: the grapes, blossom, orange zest, melon, and peach. Full-bodied with lovely concentration. The alcohol is matched with good acidity so the sweetness isn't cloying. The flavours last long on the finish.

Lovely nose of stone-fruits and a hint of orange, a little simpler on the palate, perhaps lacking a bit of acidity. At £12 for 750ml an absolute bargain, if unlikely to set the world alight.

Lovely! Fairly advanced golden amber Ripe heady Muscat flavors with typical 15% but fabulous balance kept this all in check. Really quite lovely drinking right now and worth a shot.

With all due respect to the previous CT reviewers who have scored this an average of 84 points at the time of this note...this is an excellent wine, one that deserves a score of 90 points! The wine features a delectable caramel element, strong notes of baking spices, candied citrus peel, intense nuttiness, and Madeira-like qualities. Showing great acid, a rounded mouthfeel, and substantive finish. Not to be overlooked! Serious wine and excellent QPR!

moderately deep gold. strong orange, muscat flavors, a bit hot and cloying. I think these should be drunk as early as possible as they seem to come a bit undone and get clunkier, rather than more interesting with age.

Interesting! Not icky sweet, indeed dryer than one might expect. Lots of candied citrus peel on the nose and palate. Sweet pipe tobacco, and pine forest also show. Not the most rounded or polished, certainly worth trying given the sub $20 price tag though.

Floral notes - smooth and honeyed - unctuous - and pairs very well with a dark 72% cacao chocolate

Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2012-08; Southern Rhône (by RvR and AdJ) : Beautiful bouquet with muscatel, tangerine and citrus. On the palate apricots, tangerine, pear, peach, sweetness of course and also good fresh acidity. Some bitterness in the finish. Overall a pleasant wine thanks to the fresh acidity and a with good complexity. Nice wine.

Rich amber color. Nose opens with some honey and almonds. Some sweetness on the palette with young peaches followed by a hot liqueur like finish. Almost like the flavors vanish in the finish leaving nothing but some heat. Would be nice with a Connecticut Shade Cigar. Easy to detect the 15% alcohol especially in the finish. Was expecting a wine and instead found it tasted much more like a liqueur. Will revisit before assign score. At current price point would …

Highly perfumed. White flowers, floral honey and a touch of lavender. Much better when allowed to come to room temp from cellar temp.

Orange. I do love that floral, musky, fresh grape scent of Muscat, and this has it in spades. Mouth-filling and viscous, silky texture, sweet but not overly so, with nice notes of honey and peach and just enough acidity to keep it from being cloying. A little heat on the finish, perhaps a tad medicinal, but this is a wine of some refinement that gives considerable pleasure. No point holding, this will only lose its fragrance with time.

Pretty underwhelming. Not enough acidity to match sweetness. Some nice honey & honeysuckle notes, orange/citrus. A bit woody. Not a great example of this village.

I wouldn't choose to hold it this long, and it takes on an unusual orange hue, but the taste is good and still recognizably muscat. Good+.

Overly floral nose with citrus aromas. Floral, tropical fruit palate with nice acidity and balanced sweetness. My biggest issue with this wine is the floral, almost medicinal, flavor profile. Wouldn't buy again.

This smelled like a mix of citronella, oranges and bug spray. Massive potpourri on the palate, oranges, lots of density and sweetness. The potpourri thing here is very large and might put some people off. That said, this is a very interesting wine that I did like, if initially a bit off-putting. People's opinion of this wine was all over the map.

London CT II Event (The Hide Bar, London) : Nice nose of rich fruit - smoke, burnt fruit, pungent. In the mouth very sweet but a nice dash of acidity to bring the palate back in line. The sugra is quite prevalent but doesn't detract too much from what is a nice quaffing aperatif wine. A good "breakfast" wine. One for foie gras

Ambré aux reflets rosé intriguant. Le nez est intensément sur le muscat avec des notes d'évolution. La bouche est simple et la finale est amère. Le vin manque un peu de fraîcheur pour atteindre l'équilibre.

Medicinal and sweet. Tasted like cough syrup but more acidic. The only reason that this wine even gets this score is because the nose is nice at first and there is a good acidity, but that is not enough to save this wine.

Tasted again this weekend and the wine has softened a little - the aftertaste is not so pronounced and overall the wine was a lot more balanced.

Previous CT tasters nailed this one - "What happened here?" This was a quite dependable and sometimes delightful Beaumes de Venise gone wrong. It was too sweet with little acidity and a burnt taste that was really unpleasant. Yuk. This hit the sink. Would not buy again without tasting first. [~$15 in 375; would not pay a dime for another bottle]

Not my favorite Beaumes de Venise, a bit sweeter than I would have liked. Went very well with chocolate desert. Excellent wine, though, serve nice and cold. Drank at Vincents on Camelback

Rich, dark, glossy colour. Sweet floral nose but with very sugar undertones. Taste is somewhat musty, floral, rich christmas-cake like with a burnt aftertaste - agree with previous reviewer that the aftertaste lets this wine down. We buy this wine every year and this was one of the more disappointing years - the 2004 was much more refined and more rounded,
