At seventeen years, the important fill level and cork were in ideal condition, as were the foil and label, likely at the apex of its drinking window, not expected to improve further, but should continue to age for superb drinking for several more years. Dark garnet colored, medium to full bodied, complex but elegant and polished, nicely balanced and integrated blackberry and black currant fruits, accented by notes of mocha, anise and hints of floral and black tea, with silky …

Conn Creek's 2010 Anthology is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 3% Malbec. From a bottle purchased upon release and cellared under ideal conditions, it was decanted off of its substantial sediment and allowed three hours in carafe prior to tasting. Still a youthful deep ruby in color, it delivers aromas and flavors of dark plums, Bing cherries, fig, cocoa and graham cracker spice. Medium-bodied and seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%), it is …

Last bottle from a 1/2 case , went out on top though. Showing nicely at the moment with fruit and some interesting secondary flavors all blending well. Doubt it has much room to improve so drink up.

From magnum. Very dark purple, no bricking. Light, slightly sour attack with herbal notes; dense mid palate with classic cabernet dark fruits, nicely complex with some briney notes. Medium-long, slightly sweet finish. A great choice for our group dinner with flatiron steak. At its peak (in magnum at least) but should be good for another 5+ years.

A nice Bordeaux blend. Very little decanting time needed at this stage. Smooth. Good ripe fruit. Mostly blue and black fruits showing with a little sweet Oak. Not particularly complex, but good balance and nothing to complain about other than perhaps it being a bit overpriced for this vintage.

Rich and plummy, pretty full into secondary phase with cigar box and relaxed tannins; silky mouthfeel. Probably close to peak, though will hold well here for a few years.

excellent nose after brief decant, but this one seems to have lost it's tannins and structure a little. Maybe time to drink these? Very enjoyable now without food and for those who do not like tannins and acidity. Napa typical nose and flavors still showing though. Drink soon if you have them!

Here is a juicy red blend that had gorgeous fruit. Blackberry, licorice, plum and cherry notes with some firm tannic backbone to support this. A mid-palate concentration that carried forth to a fairly generous finish. Nicely done with a drinking window that will easily carry this 3-4 more years.

Nice nose of wet, just rained on stone, dusty wood, light herbal notes, bright under-ripe fruits, wild flower and slight hints of cooked meat. On the palate appears bitter chocolate, pepper and more rounded dark berries. Buoyant in the mouth with good tannin balance over juicy, not quite jammy fruit. Finishes nicely. Really nice bottle, goes beyond good daily drinker nicely.

Soft (mostly ripe berry, cassis) fruit, mild/ripe tannins, rich mouth feel and light but noticeable oak shadings on the nose and palate. Held up well on 2nd day after pouring from a screw-capped 375ml pour off from the previous evening. Good wine but poor QPR at $35-$55.

This iteration of Anthology is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Merlot and 3% Malbec. Deep ruby in color, it sports aromas and flavors of black bramble fruits, licorice, lavender and clove. Medium-to-full-bodied, round and with nicely integrated alcohol (14.5%), this wine has silky tannins that glide on the middle palate and throughout the medium length finish. Another year or two in the bottle are in order here, as there are intangibles which …

Actually liked this more this time when compared with chateau st jean cinq cepages. This blew the 02 away. I guess napa won that round. The fruit was powerful and expressive exploding with blackberry pie, cherry & creme brûlée. Well rounded, soft and polished but not overly dense. I wish it had more structure or character at this point. Nice finish & integrated acidity & tannins.

Fruit started to take a backseat to a bit of leather and pencil shavings however cherry & blackberry showing up. Nicely balanced with the fruit still up front. The tannins have mellowed but still offer up structure & provide a backbone. Acidity was nice and the finish was awesome. Well balanced offering nice complexity & beautifully done. Very good. Still in its window. I'd drink this up for another few yrs.
