Bad cellar management unearthed this one ... crazy oxidation driving really funky flavours on this one. Very interesting with some Greek food ordered in.

Dry white, great acidity that worked well with Greek fish, seafood and lamb.

Trs surprenant.

Or brillant. Nez minrale(cailloux broys) et salin. En bouche, salin, minrale, cailloux rouls, caramel au sel, bonne prsence d'acidit. Vraiement bien.

Quite differant than what I am used to drink. Mineral, a little spicy with a nice acidity that balances out everything nicely. The bottle goes down quickly.

Jaune dor. Nez minral et florale, fleurs blanche, gravier, euchalytus. En bouche, acidit bien dos, cot salin, plutt long, enveloppe bien le palet. Trs bien.

The oak dominates at this stage alongside aromas of glue, citrus fruit, roasted almonds and flinty minerality. Full-bodied with balancing acidity and a long aftertaste.

Medium bodied, with light herbal notes on the nose; on the palate: oak, vanilla, and lemon at first, akin to an oaky New World Chardonnay framed by bracing acidity; then, secondary flavors of pineapple develop after 30+ minutes, as well as some flinty smokiness on the backpalate; strangely, the finish seemed almost off-dry. After 2 hours the wine began to come through as more diluted as the vibrancy of the acidity began fading away. Will probably reach its peak around …

Medium straw color. On the nose oak is overpowering the fruit which seems restrained at this stage. Roasted almonds, citrus scents and the signature Santorini minerality. On the palate it is medium-bodied but again the fruit appears as somewhat suppressed. Oak and minerality dominate and acidity is high and somewhat disjoint. Maybe just undergoing an awkward phase so I should try it again in the future.

Visit to Estate Argyros (Santorini) : Vanilla, minerals, and some toast. Nicely balanced, and well-rounded body, the oak adds another layer of depth and complexity. Finishes with fine tannins and good acidity.

Complex nose with dusty minerals, bitter orange peel, pine raisin and the list goes on... More restrained use of barrel than in the past which makes for a more elegant wine without losing any of its power. Full bodied, full flavored, long finish.

The newly released vintage of one of Santorini's top wines, vinified in a different way than previously with no use of new oak. Only second and third fill 500 litres French oak barrels are used and a part of the wine spent some time in large foudres of Austrian oak. The result is a wine that despite its youth, combines perfectly the Santorini assyrtiko character with oak influence which remains noticeable without overpowering the fruit. Nutty nose with grapefruit, sandstone …
