Outstanding. Still going strong on day 3. Drink or hold. Currently at peak, and I doubt it will improve. Medium body, medium finish. Bright fruit.

Medium deep ruby red in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of well developed, ripe red fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & raspberries with slight orange rind notes, spices, cherry-cola, earthy/dusty notes, tea, minerals & a touch of oak/vanilla. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of developed, well balanced & smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of tart cherries, sweet blueberries & plums with spices, cola, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla. Long lingering silky-smooth finish. Drinks quite well …

Deep, dark red. Nose and palate were both similar. Intense black raspberry and black cherry with some spice. Nice balance with a long finish. Seems to have plenty of years left.

Decanted for one hour. Lovely nose of raspberry and rose. Medium body. Fruit first, then earthy mid-palate, no finish. Tannins mellowed over dinner. Served with Sugo di Carne and Caesar salad, started to come into its own towards the end of the meal.

Infanticide. Carol pulled the wrong bottle. As Charlie Brown opined, there is no greater burden than a great potential.

Rated on the 2nd night. Fragrant nose, berries and flowers with a hint of cedar. Palate is a complex fruit basket, cherry, raspberry and blackberry, very lush and enveloping. Transitions nicely through the mid as the flavors evolve to ultra silky tannins, long finish. A nicely made wine from a beautiful vintage.

Dark, dark cherry, white pepper, nice spice to the nose. Nice round body, good acidity. I really like how some extra bottle time has added smoothness to this wine. Good red fruit. Long, soft, awesomely pleasant finish.

WOTN in my opinion. Really nice nose of fresh berries, floral notes and minerals. Wound a little tight, even after a bottle decant. Opened nicely over the course of the evening. Went nicely with the Beef Bourgone.

Big, dark, rich, ripe, structured and juicy. Still very young, raw and tight. Probably lots of upside, but it needs another couple of years to evolve.

Visit to Willamette Vally (Oregon) : Much more rounded than the 2011 Estate. Still a bit of white pepper and slight green note. Lovely and fresh dark and red fruit.

Visit to Willamette Vally (Oregon) : Even fuller and riper than the 2011 Homer. Glossy red and black fruit. Nice depth. Long finish.

Rich dark cherry complex nose. Taste a little tight up front, but great texture. Nice dark earthy fruits and good acidity. Definitely will benefit from some cellar time.

Another Saturday at Knightsbridge - mostly blind (Northbrook, IL) : Slightly tart red cherry aromas and flavors, both showing a bit of new oak protruding for now. Good textures, but a slight raw edge in the middle right now, which I expect will soften in a year or two.

Dark fruit tones, a little floral, dense, some toffee oak. Very pretty and well-balanced, but not style.

Memorial Day Weekend. Smooth, lots of complexity but softly composed. Extremely dark color as with the rest of the barrel samples that were being poured.

Willamette Valley for Memorial day weekend and a peak at 2012; 5/25/2013-5/26/2013 : Barrel sample. Vibrant aromas of deep, rich fruit. Very darkly complected. Soft palate texture, which is cutting, but not too much depth here. Feels stemmy. The finish is lean but the overall notion of this wine is of quite a monster (of alcohol). (86-89 points)

"Pinot in the City" tasting (Chicago, Ill) : Still just a baby, tight, tannic. But aromas and flavors of beautiful dark berries and cherries along with spices and earth assure this will be a winner. (Doris: Yes)

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL) : Nose: There is a panopolie of floral tones with roses, violets, red florals, hi-toned red fruits, and some spice tones. There is very good depth on this with it favoring a more expressive side. Taste: Medium bodied with medium/high acidity and some silky tannins. Well balanced with silky tones of roses, violets, red florals, red fruits, and some cherries. Overall: This is a gorgeous pinot. There is …

Memorial Day Weekend & Eyrie South Block Reserve Pinots (Willamette Valley, Oregon) : Barrel Sample. Nice aromas, but soft. Impressive balance of aromas. Really forwardly fruited palate that feels large in size and weight. Good juicy fruit, with nice soft texture and lots of grippy tannins. More big fruit at the end; nice and soft despite the grip. 88-90 points.
