Very pleasing red; finally drinking beautifully at 9 years. Old vines, biodynamic, fermented in cement. Black cherry, ripe red cherry, dried purple flowers, dried herbs. Dry, with plenty of sweet fruit, med acidity, med + but polished tannins. The alcohol is high at 15% but perceived more like 13.5%. Med + body, flavor intensity and length. Wonderfully smooth; great by itself or with food. It has several years left in its optimal drinking window. Quite remarkable for a VdF.

Single piece cork, no seepage. Tasted over 24h. First night i found the fruit to be wound up and muted, with grippy tannins at the fore. Second night was much better, as was my previous recollections of this bottling. I recommend decanting for 4h prior or simply open and drink the next day. The stems and tannins make this wine pretty sturdy. It will easily hold up to some air and improve. This still has a decade of life ahead …

No formal note. One piece cork, no seepage. Tasted over 24h. The first night took several hours to coax this wine into waking up. It started to taste like grenache after about 90 minutes. The second night, the wine took on more complexity and was significantly more enjoyable. I recommend opening the bottle far ahead of time if the intention is to drink this before 2020. The wine is quite dark for grenache. Drink or hold to 2023. 14.5% abv

This wine is somewhat troubling, and I may have just opened it at a bad time. On the first night, I poured a glass and let it sit for 1.5-2 hours, expecting it to need some air. It was still somewhat tight when I drank it and the alcohol was the most noticeable thing on the nose. I detected some of its potential though. I closed it up with Private Preserve inerting gas. This is a section of the vineyard that developed really great fruit in the 2009 vintage for Jean-Marc seperated it. These vines are sitting on about 4 feet of pebbles and they are the best block of the old riverbed where he is at. And this is typically the last block that is harvest as well.
