2012 vintage

It's okay. Dark ruby red color / opaque. Flavor is mild; tannins affect after taste leaving mouth dry.

2014 vintage

Still alive, medium to dark red, no aging noticed on the colour on the rim of the glass, good acidity, a funky perfumed smell of violets and burnt wood, tannins give this a lingering earthy coffee like taste with a sweetness of dark fruit, reminds me of a bitter chocolate aftertaste. Drinkable but not a favourite of mine.

2012 vintage

I entered the wine name wrong. It is actually the Yamhill Carlton version, not their basic wine. Cost is $45. Very well balanced. Minerality is dominant with still good presence of red fruits. Medium acidity for complementing food.

Earth, baking spices, and generous blue fruit. Very nice drinking experience.

Garnet color. Nice subtle aromas of forrest floor and red berries. Fills the mouth with cherry fruit, mulberries, spice, smooth tannins and silky creamy oak. Lovely balanced acidity and a lingering finish.

Solid Pinot. Sweeter on the palette than the nose. Rounded flavors that linger. Interesting mix of those smooth dark fruits with some hint of hot spice. Very drinkable and has the legs to pair with some bigger food flavors.

Bright and fruit forward for a pinot. Had a little citrus "pow" in the mouth that softened as it opened up.

Ruby color, bright and clear. Nose weak, very restrained, pinot fruit, a baking spices note quickly vanishes. Palate has cherry flavor, a hint of sweetness; moderate acidity, quite a bit of supple tannins and a touch of bitterness, a tea/Angostura note. Finish is long but astringent.

2014 vintage

Ripe plum, black cherry and spice aromas are followed by similar flavors on this medium-bodied, deep ruby wine. With good acidity, soft tannins and nicely integrated alcohol (listed as 14.1%), it is an excellent "food wine" that has impressive mid-palate density and closes with a medium-length finish. This Pinot should drink nicely for several more years. Drink now-2022.

Fairly subdued nose of cherries, earth, smoke, and a touch of menthol. Red cherries, tart cherries, earth, and a touch of bitterness. Good acidity, lightly grippy tannins, good finish. Overall, this was an enjoyable wine with dinner. The price is right too.

Rock solid quality for the price, and a better than average 'WV' Pinot Noir. Structured, balanced, and layered. Highly enjoyable. 90-91.

Lots of fresh cherries come pouring out with the cork along with a little earthiness. Palate finds cherry, hit of black plum, white pepper on the finish. Day one it was a little acidic with a long finish but not overly tannic. Day 2 saw the acidity and tannins really lay down and be very balanced. Not a great P/N for Willamette but very good none the less.

A high QPR, quite enjoyable Willamette Valley Pinot Noir. A frarant, floral nose dominated by cherry follows through on the palate adding some forest floor earth flavoring. That taste of the region carries through to a quite satisfying, but short, finish with the cherry, earth and herbal flavors continuing through. Nice fresh acids with a touch of tannins, this is a leisurely, satisfying wine that preforms well if not meant to be taken overly seriously.

Nose shows good intensity and is quite complex, with dark cherry, plum, and dark mixed berries on top of light baking spice, juicy flower pedal, pine forest, and aromatic tar. Consumed over 2 days, note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, pomegranate, black cherry, blueberry with hints of black pepper and Asian spice. Palate: Medium bodied, red and blue fruit attack, good balance, a bit hollow thru the mid-palate, comes back nicely in the back-end with red fruit - pomegranate and Asian spice notes dominating a medium length finish.

Consumed over two (2) days (vacuvined), note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, dark cherry, cinnamon, and licorice. Palate: Medium bodied, light dark fruit and earthy characteristics up front, nice acidic kick to balance the mid-palate out, a spice driven back-end kick. Finish: Medium length, dominated by spicy dark red fruit and earthiness. A nice effort which delivers a little something from front-to-back, just no high notes.

I am rating this wine higher than previous reviews. It suits my palate extremely well, which is to say mineral over fruit and excellent balance. PNP, smells like a burgundy with earth and must dominating (sends me to olfactory heaven). This medium bodied Pinot has lots of interest on the palate and a lingering finish. Juicy, vibrant, a very nice wine. lots of red fruit in the nose. It tastes like it smells. If you can find it below $25-24 bones it's solid for a WV pinot.

Bright ruby in color, this wine showed muted notes of cherry, licorice and a strange candied aroma similar to caramel. The mouth feel was soft with smoke, cola and baking chocolate. The finish was short with just enough acidity to keep it together. Purchased for $32US, this wine was not that enjoyable considering its price point. I didn't find it as enjoyable as others do here.

This wine was not good on PnP. It was maybe an 84, with some caramel corn and weak cherry notes, but nothing else going on. I was very surprised, since other wines I have had from The Four Graces have been quite good, even outstanding. On day THREE, things finally started to look up. Enticing, vibrant, dark ruby-purple in color, it presents ripe pomegranate and cranberry on the palate, laced by an earthy spiciness. Hints of smoky oak contributes to a softness to the mouth feel without masking the lovely red to black fruit characteristics. The velvet texture, balanced acidity, vibrant freshness, integrated tannins provide for a long elegant finish.

Couleur: Rubis relativement foncé mais reste translucide. Nez: Très fruité. Un peu de bois. Alcool. Bouche: Bonne ampleur. Très rond. Les tannins sont fins. Cependant je trouve le vin unidimensionnel. Trop sucré & lourds pour mes goûts. En résumé, un vin qui n'est tout simplement pas dans ma palette.
