Benanti Etna Rosso Contrada Dafara Galluzzo

Red raspberry, lava, blood orange zest and a touch of earth. A medium finish, and a juicy core, with fine tannin and layers. Nice complexity and more than ready. Quite enjoyable, with a medium body. Drink now - 2032.

Etna tasting in Ksiazki i Wino (Ksiazki i Wino) : Between the reds, this was the least balanced one, starting from a quite translucent garnet color. The nose was quite nice, and few people at the table liked it, with dried flowers, spices, strawberries. On the palate it was a bit unbalanced, and I'm fought between thinking that it's not so well done or just way too young to be approached.

Pnp at La Connessa. I remain dumbfounded at the hold Benanti has over reviewers. This was fine but quite tannic and high in alcohol. Finish was exceedingly dry. Might get better in 2-4 years, but are we really looking for 14.5% from Sicily?

Very good but something seemed a bit off balance and there was a little bit of a bite to it at first. Light bodied with still a direct flavour profile that probably would have been more enjoyable with a more thoughtful food pairing but on its own, it was very good, not great.
