PnD let air for 2hrs. Clear. Medium ruby. Clean. Medium intensity with aromas of cassis plum juniper (the power of suggestion) tar tobacco and blackberry paste. Dry. Medium alcohol. Medium(+) acidity. Medium(+) acidity. Medium intensity with flavours of cassis blackberry paste and juniper. Medium finish. Good. Drink now not suitable for further ageing. Nice fruit with grippy finish. Lacks a touch in the middle.

Six years after the suggested RIP date for the Poggio Ai Ginepri, please know that its demise is premature. The 2007, opened thirteen years after harvest, is an earthy delight. You can smell the age and the earth in every whiff. Its slight brick hue of course indicates an aged wine. Slight acidity at this age of the wine. While some here have stated the Syrah overpowers the dominant Cabernet, I would disagree with this particular bottle. This wine's typicity …

Almost purple in colour, full volume notes of toasty oak, vanilla, dark berries ending on an a lengthy and slightly acidic finish. Great value. Proof again how sensational the 2016 vintage has become. Priced $22.85CAD, give it a year to mellow and drink over the following 5 years.

Red and young. Fresh fruit of cherry and dark fruits with a hint of balsamico. Good balance with medium acidity. Think this will gain with a few years in the cellar for even better balance and developed flavors to marry.

Kruidig neusje met alcoholische pruim (als dat een ding is) en laurier. In de mond een volle krachtige wijn met vrij strakke zuren. Lekker om een fijn weekend mee te sluiten.

Majority cabernet with syrah and merlot. Slightly smokey dark fruit with standout notes of black coffee and elevated salinity. Another Bolgheri (Guado al Tasso) in the same tasting had both elements so I guess that's Bolgheri's sense of place, but this one was a tad more extracted/sweeter which helped it take first place in a crowd that leans heavily new world. Interesting, but would not buy again for myself.

Lovely fruit-forward and easy-drinking red blend from Tuscany. Lots of black cherry flavors - which is why my wife guessed Barbera - and fine acidity. Nothing complex or memorable but almost everyone will like it. - 88 points

Relatively opaque maroon color. Nose of black fruit, warm earth, and roasting tomatoes. A soft, voluptuous entry presages a palate of black fruit with the Syrah providing spicy bass notes. The wine seems to be made in a very "modern" style but retains an earthiness and minerality on the finish that brings old Italy to the fore.

Really enjoyed this bottle drunk from Friday with still some left today. Seems to have softened slighty with less of that harsh edge which is still there but toned down. Lovely warm spicy palate with much better balance of fruits. Provided a nice match to herb stuffed lamb cutlets

Still not really well balanced.....very dark fruits to the fore and quite a harsh palate. Seems that this is too spicy and the Syrah is preventing any of the other fruits to come forward. Will leave the other bottles a few years.

Excellent vin pour le prix. Assez typique de Bolgheri. Couleur intense (rubis violacée). Carafé pendant 30 minutes, le nez apporte des aromes puissants de fumée (le bois) et des aromes de fruits noirs épicés apportés par la syrah. En bouche le fruit est présent , mais pas à l'avant-plan. Bonne concentration.

Not really improved since last tasting but was a really good match with toasted crusty bread, rubbed with cut garlic and drizzled with fine tuscan olive oil!. Syrah still the dominant force here and this wine has not resolved itself and the blend is unbalanced. Nice drink the 2nd day with spice and chocolate to the fore....also some soft black fruits coming through. This will alas never compare to the 2006

Not so integrated as the 2006 and the Syrah is currently dominating this wine. It actually tastes similar to a Chilean Syrah at present and has thick dark sweet fruit with spice and chocolate. The Cabernet and Merlot are struggling to make there presence known at this stage. Tannins are evident and give an indication of future development.
