This Classico was not a let-down, but it isn't worth getting again. I was expecting some depth to the flavor, but it was rather undeveloped. Earthy notes allow this bottle to be scored above par.

A thin, non-complex wine good for drinking with pizza, spaghetti, or some such thing. A OK daily wine. Has reasonably strong tanins, pretty typical Chianti.

Purple ruby color with medium clarity. Notes of black cherry, earth, and hints of vanilla on the nose. Juicy black cherry and raspberry on the palate, with hints of cocoa and coffee through the mid palate. Closes with round tannins and medium length fruit and oak notes. Good.

This really caught me by surprise. About an hour and a half in a carafe and this wine was singing with homemade pizza margherita. Deep color, rather full bodied for a Chianti, a little new world leaning in style, full, dark fruit on the nose and palate and a nice long finish. Did I really only pay $10 for this wine? Rating reflects QPR.

This was an amazingly memorable wine. We paired it with a delicious Chicken Cacciatori and the two could not have been more perfectly paired. This wine was best with food but not an unappealing wine to quaf before dinner. Medium body and flavorful fruit with a slight hint of leather and barnyard straw. My wish list includes this wine and paired with this specific dish.
