Purchased nearly 10 years ago and cellared carefully. Medium bodied with a nose and flavors that are reminiscent of the old style Rhones, but just barely so. Nice fruit flavors balanced with a little tannin. Drinking well.

Much better than last bottle. Age gave it leather and tobacco, nice depth.

Quite a good CdP. Sadly, it is my last, the second-to-last having shattered in my cellar. I recognized the quite enjoyable bouquet, however, both in my glass and lingering in my cellar. This reasonably priced CdP aged well and speaks well of this property.

Slick, extracted, polished fruit. I remember buying this because of Parker's high rating, back then when I was chasing points. Modern style Chateauneuf du Pape and as much as I'd like to say I like this for what it is, I really don't. Lacks soul. Not for me.

Strong notes of tobacco and 'barnyard'. Not altogether pleasant, but not revolting. Start is better than the finish...

Still dark garnet with ruby ring. Pleasantly surprised, light ot medium body, with nice integrated tannins, more complex than expected on mid- palette with dark fruit, hint of leather, wet earth and tobacco, and pleasant medium long and gradual finish. Better than expected from previous tastings so may be bottle variation form same case.

Dinner at Roland's (Casa Rolando) : Tasted double-blind. Lots of anise on the nose, palate and through to the very solid finish, along with a sandalwood dust. Fruit is dark with soy tones yet rounder than its peers in the vintage that I've tasted so far. The fragrant sawdust is a bit distracting for me but I can see how some might regard it as an attractive secondary note. I do like that long finish, though. Great for the price.

From 1/2 btl. Still extracted with slick, polished cherry fruit, but this has come around since I tasted it last and is now showing some secondary, earthy notes. Okay.

Double decanted 3 hours before drinking. Beautiful dark bloody garnet color. Lovely aromas of spicy plums, smoky bacon and that telltale "barnyard" nose of Southern Rhones. In mouth, quite full and assertive notes mirroring the aromas. Strangely, about an hour and a half later turned downward and gave off funky "stewed" smells. Had to leave party with half bottle still remaining.....overall a very nice ripe wine.

I agree with the others' characterization of the color, nose, and palet. Although I enjoy CdR wines, I am not a big fan. This wine, however, I would buy again. For me, the balance of fruit and spice was exceptional; a CdR lover may dislike the 'subdued' spice component. I would pair this wine with lighter entrees than what I would normally pair a CdR with.

Spicy nose with 'confiture' of black fruits. On the palate delicious fruit, refreshing acidity, liquorice and still foreceful tannins. The label states 15% alcohol, but this wine is not heavy, there's enough material to mask the alcohol. Accessible now, but will still improve. Very good qpr.

Typical CDP, in your face with intensity and a layered rush of gamey and almost overripe fruit. CDP's aren't my favorite but this is an inexpensive very good choice.

Dinner with Touran. Chinese food. Great deep red clarity. Licorice, pure.

Started bland, but came into its own as it got more air. Nice integration, if a little less aggressive than most CdP.

This is very yummy stuff! Initially this has a nose of piercing cherry with similar flavors on the palate. With some time in the decanter this softens to shows some nice earthy, dustiness and a hint of provencale herbs. The finish gains in power but is still fairly drying albeit quite pleasant with a slight hint of bitterness as this gets a bit too much air. This wine is all about young, sappy, luscious Grenache that just keeps you coming …
