Brought this to Tunglok Teahouse for a dinner with my ex-colleagues. We had steamed shrimp dumplings. steamed pork dumplings, stir-fried asparagus and lotus root with cashew buts, black fungus and lily bulb, roast Irish duck, soy sauce chicken, dee-fried squid, crispy pork belly and wok fried beef hor fun with pork lard. Brought this to my University Best Friend's new home for lunch today. Dark purple in colour. A very likeable Grenache which combines energy and grace rather effortlessly. Charming and delightful too!

A bit simple. Has some residual sugar. Packs some heat at 15.5% alcohol and it’s noticeable on the finish. Enjoyable, but there are similar Spanish Grenache wines for about half the price. Will pass on these in the future. A bit better on day 2. The alcohol is not as noticeable.

Garnacha of a selection of plots of foothill soils from the mountains of Ainzón, Fuendejalón and Tabuenca, very stony, with little boulders, of limestones or marls, dolomies, quartzites and slates. 16-month aging in French and American oak barrels. Aromas of black and red fruits, Mediterranean herbs, balsamic, spices, fresh, warm, fleshy, very intense, wide, tasty and persistent. Enjoying!!!

Quick decant, this is on the heavy side for a grenache, with oak elements far in the lead over the fruit itself. The nose is the best part of this, with too much barrel for me to enjoy it more.

Brought this to a gathering with some old friends whom used to perform on stage together. Decanted for 2 hours before serving. Dark purple with fresh plums, ripe berries and an air of cool mint. Delicious and mouthwatering. This Grenache was singing beautifully this evening.

Holy smokes…this is very good right now. The tannic finish has aged away. Nice fruit forwardness without being overpowering. I wish I had another bottle of the 2017.

Still going strong. Still has good fruit presence and noticeable tannins; would think will last at least another 3 years or so but definitely time to drink. Katie, Tim, and I were impressed with this wine as it was still drinking nicely by the end of the evening after a flashy 2012 Cade and a wonderful 2015 Domaine de Chevalier.

Big, in your face fruit. Definitely heavily extracted to the point it is *almost* cloying. Dark red and blue fruits, long finish. Vanilla and some oak / cedar notes, chocolate, spice. Don't buy this expecting a restrained CdP style Grenache. It is very good, but may not be for some.

Pop and pour but needed a bit of air to flesh out, then nice Grenache with raspberry, cherry, light chocolate.

Delicious. We got turned on to this wine with the 2015 vintage. The fruit flavors seem richer and more prevalent in this 2017 version. Also some nice earthy notes, even coffee in there to balance out the richness of the fruit flavors. Comes across with purity and freshness, silky texture. Well made wine. Looking forward to the evolution of our other bottles.

Medium-dense purple color in the glass. Fruit forward aromas of plums, spice, and tobacco. Plums, blackberries, and black cherries on the palate. A bit “hot” and tannic when opened, but softened nicely after brief decanting. Firm structure suited well to foods such as huhnerschnitzel or similar fried foods.

Se aprecia en vista un vino de capa alta con un color rojo intenso con toques ligeramente marrones. En aroma destaca la tierra mojada el mineral y la especia. Al final del aroma se aprecian frutos negros como moras o arándanos. En boca se notan los taninos. Llena la boca en entrada y es muy largo. Es un vino potente y complejo. Muy alcohólico pero sin llegar a molestar en absoluto. Sigue manteniendo mineral en boca.

Made from the estate’s 92 hectares of old Garnacha vines. Aged 16 months in oak. Decanted Inky and opaque in the glass. Dark purple with intriguing aromas of chocolate and autumn leaves. The taste is dominated by blackberries and cherries. Complex, full-bodied, and well-balanced. A really good wine that gains a lot from being aired for a while.

Young fruity nose of cherry pie filling, some menthol after a few swirls. There is some christmas spice and vanilla on palate, indicative of French oak. Found this to be hitting on all cylinders. Big inky wine. Dark berries, currants, and baking spice. Silky tannins. Oak is well integrated at this point. Still prefer Numanthia Termes at this price point, but this wine has impressed with age. As with so many Spanish wines, the value here is fantastic. Paired well with roasted lamb.

5 years since my last tasting and I find that time hasn't been too kind for this wine. It's still a decent wine but the oak and fruit have disappeared. Maybe in its dumb stage.

Bouteille amenée en cadeau. Tout à fait acceptable. C'est un peu moderne... 15.5%, assez extrait mais avec un équilibre acceptable. Il y a une certaine sucrosité qui reste mais un côté raffle et une saine amertume équilibre le tout. Agréable mais je n'achèterais pas. En accompagnement d'une fondue chinoise.
