A nice Cabernet Sauvignon. Light. It may be a little past its prime, but still good. Smells like molasses and baking spices. Plenty of blueberry too. Needed a little time to open up, but worth the wait.

Retail $22. I was sent a couple of bottles of this wine a few years ago and as I was running out to my son’s Little League baseball game (we got crushed, again), I grabbed a few bottles to conduct a little impromptu wine tasting for the other parents (I think they love me now). I grabbed this without checking what I thought of it a couple of years ago when I tried it. I figured “Bourbon Barrel Aged” was …

Retail $22. This spent six months in new American oak and then another six in used Bourbon barrels, which is a lot in the Bourbon Barrel-Aged world of winemaking. Rich and luscious--this is a big red lover's wine. Strawberry, raspberry, vanilla, clove, spice, and just about everything nice. Smokey and musky, there is no getting around the fact that this is a big'n--great fruit, loads of layers, plenty of complexity. There is a ton going on with this wine and …

High ABV and it shows. Light color on the pour, certainly some bourbon influence. Cherry and blackberry - they just taste like they were soaked in alcohol. Update: worse on day 2.0

Bright, fruity but not overly sweet. Blooms in your mouth, delicious on its own or with stew or herbed meats.

Light, bright and zippy. Enticing aromatic nose, with cherries and berries, and interesting notes of bacon, wintergreen, and of course vanilla (bourbon barrel, indeed); muted cherry and berry flavors, a touch of baking spice, and a bright, zippy, classic zinny peppery, briary midpalate and dry lingering finish. Not my favorite style, but very nice for the price.

Definitely pick up the booziness of the bourbon, but not the flavor. Lighter mouthfeel than expected. Interesting overall

Nice nose. Did not pick up bourbon barrel is aroma or flavor. Nice medium bodied Zin. Not a bad value.

Good, but not as good as the 2015 Lodi Zin which is great.

Had this at a Hamilton show last night. I can't describe it but the wine was just bad. Wish I would have gone with the house wine as I am sure it would have been better. The wine hadn't gone bad, it was just bad.

Pleasant enough daily drinking wine, and at the price point I paid ($3.87 per bottle at Sam's Club) I wish I would have bought more than the two cases that I got.

This us the third different wine I have tried that was aged in Bourbon Barrels, I didi not, care for any of them. The wine seems "dried" out loosing a lot of its fruit charm and forwardness. Varietal character seems to be muted in this wine, medium bodied with fair finish. For the price there are much better ones in the market place.

A nose of dark fruits and spices, dark garnet in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, raspberry, vanilla and spice on finish, better than your average Zin. www.winelx.com

I purchased this wine by happenstance, and have not yet consumed it, but I was intrigued by a Zin that was "... aged in bourbon barrels for six months," promising a savory hint of smoke. Yes, it's BBQ season. Bring on the pulled pork, cole slaw, and potato salad. I can't wait. But friends, toast your buns carefully, this wine is 15.5% ABV.

Very reminiscent of a Chilean cab, vegetal note, sour cherry and berry.

Like a zin with a milkshake finish. The bourbon gives a chocolate/cream sort of ending, and cuts the strong fruitiness of the zin. interesting and unexpected.

I pick up the effects of the bourbon barrel ageing mostly on the nose, which has a definite whiskey tang to it. (Of course that could also have to do with the SERIOUS hotness of this wine - it's 15.5%) It's good without tasting very much like a traditional Zin. On the tongue it's actually somewhat softer than you might expect, with a pleasant cherry cola note and a very mellow finish. May grab another bottle or two and lay …

Medium Ruby Red in colour at Dec 16 in Nevada USA. ave Overcropped Cool climate Cab fruit with little varietal characters . Some aged oak used , commerical style . On the palate cherry greenish fruit underripe with some tannin to give length. You can do better for the money. Disappointing

Pleasant, sweet and red, with some ripe notes but no varietal flavors. The slight sweetness carries the wine. Nothing special, but not unpleasant, note it is pretty pricy for middle of the road plonk.

Pretty big and jammy. At first, I actually thought it was a Zin. While it had a lot of flavors to it and a long finish, the wine was not at all complex. However, it did work well with our barbecue. I probably liked it better than the other reviewers and at BOGO, it's worth having a few bottles for burgers, sausages and red sauce pasta.

Not entirely bad, but a rather sloppy style. Not bad for the BOGO price of $20 ($10ea) but I wouldn't pay much more. Should be in the $10-$15 range.

Nondescript and unremarkable but pleasant enough very inexpensive daily drinker red blend (interesting and not readily characterizable blend of mostly cabernet sauvignon with a small amount each of petit sirah, sangiovese, merlot and cab franc) with a low enough price point to make it a reasonable QPR wine. Medium bodied, short aftertaste, not much in the way of tannins present, modest acidity / alcohol and as such I doubt that this has real aging potential. Tart acidic nose with red …

Doesn't really do a lot for me, although it is quite drinkable. Faint nose, rather light in color. Soft, medium-bodied wine that seems a bit thin and nondescript. Just a bit of fruit over soft, yielding tannins, not much oak in evidence, fairly well-balanced with a clean finish. Very New World in style. At around $12 to $13, there are many better choices out there. See if you can catch this on sale if you want to give it a …
