the last of four "value" chards tasted (a couple of CT! exclusives, too!). 13.5% alcohol. $11.99. this wine has a pleasing mouthfeel/weight and general good acidity/balance of fruit. it has decent typicity, but still relies too much on the lemon/cirtrusy thing; so, not a lot of fruit complexity. nevertheless, better than average QPR.

Fruit forward with a lot of ripe pear and apple fruit on the nose and palate. A touch sweet, but with nice acidity, this appeals more to my Riesling side than my White Burgundy. A little less oak present in this bottle than the last.

A butterscotch-ed, oaky CA style, but appealing for its nicely balanced acidity, creamy texture and pervasive notes of yellow apples and vanilla that linger on a surprisingly long finish. At $7, an outstanding value.

Catena Tasting : Very muted nose. Probably shouldn't have tried this after the much more flamboyant Alamos. Nice acidity, very restrained. 83-84

Aroma of vanilla and citrus. Slight vanilla flavor with a hint of citrus. Short finish.
