Bouchard P�re et Fils Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Les Cailles

Firm but maturing nicely with whisps of cherries and cinnamon. Perfumed rather than powerful.

Lovely maturing Burgundy - all the right notes of forest floor, cinnamon stick, cherries .... brothy meaty depth as well. Needs some time to open up but good stuff. Starting to mature nicely but will last quite a few years yet.

This had an amazing nose that both of us wowed over. Lovely cinnamon, violets, blue fruit. On the palate, restrained red fruit with good acidity and balance. We saved 1/2 for next day and had it with grilled Italian hot sausage. Very good, though many Bourgognes at lesser price in 05 as good.

A good Burgundy, if a little restrained on the nose and the palate. I doubt if it improves with age - so drink up.
