Nice black raspberry nose. Light tannins on the attack. Really good black raspberry and cherry upfront, but then comes a huge fade, with just a hint of the cherries hanging on the ghost of a finish. Good dinner claret for under $10, where the food or conversation is the focus, not the wine. Merlot-CS-CF blend. 12.5%

This relatively small wine couldn't compete against a much stronger Bordeaux. At less than $10, perhaps that was too much to expect when its rival cost twice that.
