Well developed tertiary flavours still supported by well integrated tannins. A delightfully velvet mouth feel with a superb finish.

Decanted for one hour. Gorgeous stuff. Very balanced nose - perfumy, mixed red and black fruit. On the palate, very complex. Black fruit, plums, forest floor, blood orange. Long finish.

Opened and decanted into a large decanter. This is a lovely wine, the pedigree & balance are noticeable & worthy of attention. This wine is still quite primary & based on this bottle I do not plan to open my next bottle until 2036ish. From magnum, delicate and seductive aromatics followed by silky texture and lovely mostly red with a little black fruits. Elegant and lively with nice dept of flavors and hints of exotic spice that remain harmonious through the tasty finish. Tasted multiple times over about 3 hours and it never missed a beat. A beautiful Burgundy. Yes please.

Initially a bit closed, then opening up nicely with earthy elements, red fruit, spices. Tannins can benefit from some more cellaring.

Sunday Night Burgundy without Baseball (Bar Parisette - Chicago IL) : Double blind, alongside the 2009. Slightly broader and more intense than the 2009, with more in the tank as well, just less composed right now. I thought this was the 2009.

Bottles from the cellars of Hatton & Edwards; 8/6/2025-12/17/2025 (London) : A little too young at the moment (for me), but much promise. Very tight out the bottle, with slightly overwhelming ethanol on the nose. Great intensity of fruit, good structure (but tannins needs more time to soften and integrate), and terrific balance. Started to open out into delicious red fruits after a couple of hours, but either needs a few more years or a serious decant.

Jammy raspberry, concentrated jungle fruit, still some funk, ultra floral, exceptionally transparent fruit quality of the vintage. Stony, citrus, violet, salt, dirt, pepper, very Morey, gamey after the funk blows off. Silky yet firm tannins yield to a soft grip. Very long, much elegance, somewhat sweet. 94-95+

PNP from magnum at a Paulee. Needed only 20 minutes in the glass and this was showing great with dark red and black fruits, nice secondaries, and an expansive and long finish. Seems to be in a perfects spot right now. A

Magnum. Pale red. Fragrant spearmint. Elegant medium weight with subtle sweetness, a little brambliness, and a long, beautiful core of soil. Tannic finish but this is already drinking very well. Classic Lambrays in its weight and fruit/soil/herbal balance.

Enjoyed 2 bottles recently at separate dinners. Both PNP. One was ready to go out of the bottle, and showed great fruit, nice secondaries on the nose, and a silky finish. It felt at its peak. The second took longer to open and felt like it had more development time left, but was also drinking really well now. A-

Consistent with previous bottles but just beginning to open up. This will be fabulous in 10 years. Deep ruby red, dark at the core, dense wine with a nose of wild berries, strawberries, black cherries, tea leaves, some stone and ferrous notes. Elegant attack on the palate and expands with dark perfumed red fruit, great lift mid palate and finishes fat and generous. Agree with others’ notes. This was elegant and smooth. Perhaps a bit muted, both on the nose and the palate. This was paired with a rich and intense and fatty kurobota pork roast. It was a nice pairing but I wonder if a more subtle dish would have allowed this to shine a bit more.

Mini ESTG at Sun Sui Wah Seafood Restaurant (Bellevue, WA, USA) : Opened up very four-square and blocky on the palate although nice cinnamon spice on the nose. We thought maybe it was heat affected. However time and air really helped, as it opened up considerably.

The bouquet immediately caused my mouth to water, with rich red fruit and strong suggestion of minerals. Deep and elegant. A bit weightier than 2017 with more fruit and less of the black tea note. Really pops. Very good.

Birthday Wine Lunch / Tasting / Dinner at Domaine Y Clerget (Pommard) : Magnum. Such great array of black and red cherries with great depth. Long and layered.

RN74; 10/5/2024-10/11/2024 (Beaune, France) : From magnum. Wasn't particularly impressed by this. The fruit profile is very perfumed and light, with that typical crunchy red berry Lambrays thing, but the palate density is lacking, and this feels a bit anemic. Lots of acidity but also somewhat missing in weight and gravitas.

Intoxicating red fruit sensation with hint of wild herbs. Palate was linear and sweet but slightly light for a 2010 grand cru. The most crowd-pleasing wine of the evening.

Opened and drank over a 3 hour dinner at Woodside Bakery. This got better as the night went on. Lovely nose, spicy and stem infused with loads of red fruit that is just starting to develop secondary aromas. Lithe and silky palate, slightly bitter and cherry bramble flavor profile with balancing acidity and some grip on the finish. This is on point tonight and in a great zone for either consumption or holding.

At first, this wasn't showing much character, but after some air, the nose developed into a beautiful aged wine perfume full of savory and meaty notes. The palate never really followed the promise of the nose in terms of flavors and character, but all the same this bottle yielded a rich, poised, and mature wine.

Medium ruby. Healthy nose of sharp red berry, heady high pitched violets, earth, damp cellar. Layers of youthful delicious raspberry, holiday spices, fine iron shards, hints of oak, fine earth on the satiny palate. Fresh acidity and firm but fine-grained tannin. Long finish of lifted red berry, iron flecks, and tart bramble. Already delicious, this wine is stacked for future glories. Opened to celebrate L’s 75th.

Opened to accompany the cheese course of a milestone birthday dinner at the Inn at Little Washington, this bottle was actually in a better place than the Clos des Ducs. Burgundy Grand Cru Dinner (The Morris, San Francisco) : Dull red. Lacy, fairly supple, light weight wine. Red berry fruit and just a bit of brambliness with fine supporting acidity. Lovely now, still some modest aging potential.

Ruby color with light garnet. Dark fruits and forest floor dominate the nose. On the palate, dark fruits flavors with an herbal component, lingering through the long finish. I personally liked it, but the others in the group who had many bottles of that specific vintage thought that the herbal component was more dominant than usual compared to their previous experience with this wine.
