Dark chocolate, smoke and espresso with earthy red fruits fill the nose. Soft textured, medium-bodied, fresh, vibrant, forward and ready to go, this is already nice to enjoy with its truffle laden red fruits. Drink from 2022-2032.

91 vvPunkte (70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec, 15% Alkohol. Verkostet im Dezember 2021 in Windisch). Dichtes Rubin. 2024-2035 vvWine.ch

Produced from a selection of their best terroir, the wine is round, soft and polished. Medium-bodied, with silky cherries and cocoa in the finish, this lighter-styled wine will drink best in its first decade of life. 89-91 Pts

My last and caught at an opportune moment. 2 hr decant. Mellow cooked red fruits with hints of truffle and earth and dusty gentle tannins. Still with (just) enough acidity to keep the whole together and in the excellent bracket. Very enjoyable with our stuffed partridges. For drinking up - won't improve.

Much as last 2016 note. An elegant old lady (?sex change) drinking beautifully but always with concerns about an encroaching and inevitable end..... Drink up and enjoy. One more to go.

2 bottles decanted together for 2hrs. Perfect old gentleman. Mellow cooked red-stoned fruits, earth, some truffle, dusty integrated tannins and just enough acidity providing grip. Dense. At the end of its plateau, and although these two bottles were even better from memory than in my 2015 note, for drinking up before losing its grip. Excellent.

2 hour decant. Tasted more robust and grippier immediately after decanting than when actually served. Juicy cherry/damson flavours with smoke, truffle and smooth integrated tannins. Dense. Medium length. Still just in the excellent range but needs drinking up before time really catches up with this wine - so decant and pour!

Lab BBQ. Only had a taste. Solid Pomerol but it didn't get me too excited

Earlier note applies with slight advance of truffly character to boot. Lovely intense velvety drinking now but reaching end of optimum plateau. Drink up over the next couple of years.

A very nice value for under $20. Cherry, cigar, and sweet cedar on the nose. Still plenty of tannin, and enough fruit to carry it. Developing, but nice to drink now. Good.

Very pretty nose of cherry, mulling spice, tobacco. Silky, round; the fruit yields to pine, sweet wood, and spice. Nice example of a mature low-end claret. Enough tannin to carry it a while longer, but drinking nicely now. Pretty, though a bit lacking in depth. Medium finish. Nice, and a fair value.

Even better than I remembered from earlier in the year. 2 hour decant. Dense ripe cherry aroma and flavour with a hint of truffle, smoke and fully integrated tannins. Smooth, rounded with good length. Fully mature but with time still on its side. I suspect the variation in community marks is down to personal preference - I love it! Another very British style (and very good value) claret.

Basic style very much as the v.good '09 Croix Mouton recently marked - but so much more refined. Density and concentration substituted with race and breed. Classy. Perfectly mature with perhaps three years ahead of it at this level.

All the secondary and tertiary qualities of maturity, yet still angular. Worth the price for those who love a complex right bank nose to smell for three days (yes, it holds in the decanter for at least 48 hours).

Opened 2 hours before consumption, but not decanted. This wine is very pleasant, smooth mouthfeel, intense black cherry flavors, earthiness, leather, nice balance and just enough tannins for a gripping mouthfeel and lingering finish. Went very well with the faux-filet roti and oven potatoes as well as the camembert and goat cheese. Very happy with this wine, which was very good deal for the quality. Wish I had some more. Definitely had potential to age for a bit longer.

Decanted one hour. Powerful nose with a little bordeaux funk. Palate of rich concentrated cherry fruit but a touch of pine, greenness, or petrol. Good acidity and strong tannic grip on the finish creating a long finish. After two hours the initial funk has blown off as well as the pine/petrol flavors. Now this wine is very pleasant, smooth mouthfeel, intense black cherry flavors, earthiness, leather, nice balance and just enough tannins for a gripping mouthfeel and lingering finish. This is …

Was wary given that WA said this 2000 was 'old' but it was beautiful, soft and polished. Nice long finish and great mouthfeel. I'd buy some more if anyone had it.

This was the first of my 2000 Bordeaux's. Nice nose of violets and some red fruits. Palate has some plum and cherry, with a bit of pencil box. Still a bit tannic - wait another year for remaining bottle.
