I guess the producer used a lot of new oak for this wine. I cannot say that the wine is not good but no longer my style.

13% abv. Purple/garnet colour. Epic nose – you just want to dive in. Bacon fat? Maybe. Certainly some floral character. The palate tells a slightly different story. Initially I thought there was not much acid there but no, there is a lot. Smoky red fruits, spice and a meaty quality add to the ripe, fresh, juicy, crisp red cherry and plum tones. Quite fresh in its early going, the wine needs some time to come around.
