Weingut Glatzer Zweigelt Dornenvogel

Had of of these a couple years ago and was disappointed. It was an ok wine but lacked structure, uniqueness and flavor intensity. This time around, it's just the opposite. This is a big, robust wine with plenty of underlying textural structure. The flavors are a unique blend of black cherry, liquorice and thyme. This has a gamay-like flavor profile. no tannins whatsoever, supple, berries very present on the nose but also mint and white pepper - a little bit resembling a lalande de pomerol. peaking already. Good.
