I swear, three days open it just keeps getting better and better. Roasted pineapple on day three so maybe not everyone's thing but there it is.

Classic The wine looks straw colored. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like lemon. It tastes like lemon and melon. The body is light/medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Drank it at some point last month. Guess I am kinda an SB man. Starting to get some secondary going on. Which is delicious.

We chilled this well and sipped throughout the evening and with our meal---turkey, asparagus and spinach salad. The aroma definitely was citrus and straw. It was refreshing with red grapefruit and maybe tart apple. The acid content helped to extend the flavors to a long finish. Our last two bottles. Great QPR

From 75cl screwcap. Sorry, I can't join the chorus of adulation. Yes, it smells of gooseberry. Yes, it is kind of medium-dry and furry on the tongue (but so is gooseberry jam). Some residual sulphur as other TNs have noted. Otherwise grapefruit, lime and more gooseberry. No, I definitely prefer the more restrained Greywacke/Cloudy Bay style. At this price point (15 EUR) I'd definitely rather be drinking a good product from the Loire. 85-86P

I love this wine, light pale yellow color, grapefruit and lemon grass with acidity nicely balanced. Crisp enjoyable wine.

Clear medium straw yellow colour with aromatic nose of gooseberry and exotic citrus notes, not youthful but not old just developing well. Dry medium full smooth and flavourful on the palate with gooseberry, guava and lime and a finish of 4to 5 seconds which was delightful. Overall well developed lovely mouth feel and zingy flavours.

The sulfur is finally backing out of this one, giving up what portents and is a great NZSB. Here it comes.

Not exactly delicate, but expresses "typicity"...is that a nice way to say it? Full throttle NZ SB and that's fine with me. Bit more grass and veg, and very tart acidity. Did well with the risotto and veggies served against. A good value in the $15 range.

Very floral nose, with citrus fruits. Loaded with NZ sav blanc flavour, cut grass, melon & lime notes. Good balanced acidity.

Surprise - found this hidden behind a 2008; thought I had consumed all the '06's. Still has a nice fragrant nose - grass, grapefruit, pear, apple, some herbs. The intensiveness of the fruit has diminished though. I generally do not keep NZ sauvignon blancs this long, so it's a learning experience at this point. This wine was at its peak two years ago. A wine that I really appreciated then and scored it in the 91-93 area.

Lots of fragrant grass on the nose; also grapefruit, lemon, apple and herbs. The wine is toward the end of its plateau. Good acidity. A better food wine now than 2-3 years ago when I graded it a 93. Went well with Cajun styled cod. Nice finish.

Australian 1998s Dinner (Crown Wine Cellars, Hong Kong) : Is starting to take on a bit more green and yellow hue. Still fresh, with a nose of nettles, limes and minerals together with some sharp Pineapple creeping in. Clean, fresh and elegant palate.

Dinner at Crown Wine Cellars, Hong Kong : This is another of our favourites which seems to convert everyone we introduce it to. Merest hints of green and yellow in colour. Fresh, vibrant nose of nettles, limes and minerals. Clean, fresh palate with good fruit which avoids the stainless steel sharpness of some of the grassier NZ Sauvignon Blancs. Elegant.

A screaming nose that initially I couldn't place. It wasn't grass. It wasn't pipi-de-chat. It clearly was some interesting, exotic fruit that I've been force fed before ;-) So, I take a sip and the palate is intense passionfruit or probably more accurately grenadilla as Tracey would say. This was a great bottle of New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Tart, with a hint of brown sugar and lemon. Not offensively sweet, and great acid. Good QPR.

Fruity nose, and fruity flavour. Ever so slightly sweet flavour. Crisp, with lime and Crenshaw melon. Medium finish. Very good (85.5).

Almost completely clear, with just a touch of light almond color. Overwhelming nose of cat pee and grass, in a good way. Wonderful flavors of grapefruit and gooseberry, with really nice mouth watering acidity on the sides of the tongue.

This is an outstanding Sauvignon Blanc. Tasted initially at a local wine tasting, the wine makers apparently learnt their craft at Cloudy Bay and now supply over 60 percent of their output to Cloudy Bay. For me, and I love Cloudy Bay, this is every bit as good but without the marketing hype and associated price.
