Terrific Ribera, reminds me of a Vega Valbuena at half the price. The aromatics combine sweet, almost compoted fruit with a leatheriness that screams tempranillo. On the palate the fruit has a density and gloss you could call inky or saucy but still has finely combed tannins with an underlying edginess but in a stealthy way since that fruit veneer gives it such a nice sheen.

Dark berry and kernel to the palate. Clarity of fruit on the palate the the 09 Gomez Cruzado, kind of, muddled up. Real dark fruit here. Drinking well now, but not sure this has a long life ahead. I mean, it is just Crianza. All the same, lots of oak still shows on the finish, perhaps it just needs time. I'm conflicted. Apparently.

2010 BODEGAS HERMANOS PEREZ PASCUAS VINA PEDROSA GRAN RESERVA RIBERA del DUERO- pronouncing this is a good example of describing this long and drawn out wine; it`s a baby in a bottle with so much energy just waiting to explode from its pre-pubescent stage; there`s leather and earth notes complimenting the fruit forward blackberry, plum and blueberry fruit; time and a long decant is recommended when opening another bottle; 90% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

The most muscular wine of the Spanish tasting showing young with big tannins but following the similar profile of fresh earth, tea, tobacco, spices, fruit in the back ground. Needs time and will continue to get better with age.

Rich nose with ripe, sweet, red fruit and some oak . Almost fullbodied with velvety tannins and a nice warm finish. Very good qpr! 89 p. Second bottle 20170122 I really like this wine. Even better now. Full-bodied with lots of sweet, rípe red and dark fruit, spices and tertiary aromas of the oak (like choclate). Soft tannins give the wine structure and the orangelike acidity creates harmony and balance among all that tasty fruit. Excellent!

A very stringent Ribera del Duero. It takes time to open up. half an hour in the glass and delicate notes of bergamot and tobacco is developing. Some hints of rasberry and a long finish witness of something better to come after a couple of years cellaring.
