Sattlerhof, Gamlitz Morillon, Sudsteiermark

Sehr “crisp”. Die Farbe offenbart schon die Leichtigkeit des Weins. Allerhellstes Strohgelb, kaum wahrnehmbare Farbe. Auch am Gaumen tut sich wenig. Ein Hauch an Zitrusfrucht. Der Gaumen dann sehr säurelastig. Ich suche gewöhnlich nach Säure in Weissweinen aber das ist auch mir zu einseitig. Ausser Säure ist praktisch nichts vorhanden, kaum wahrnehmbare Fruchtkomponente. Naja. Nach dem Polz-SB 2020 kürzlich der nächste Wein, der im Topf oder in der Pfanne zum Ablöschen landen wird…

Morillon variety, a subspecies of Chardonnay. Medium straw, watery rim and slow moving legs @12.5%% abv. Aromas dominated by herbs and herbaceous notes, pear. Dry, medium(-) acidity, medium alcohol and ditto body. Palate of green and yellow apple, yellow plum, starfruit. Good length revealing crisp finish. Fairly flat and bland flavor profile with rather rich texture. Curiosity.

Light nose, crisp apple, pear. Very pale. Taut and acidic, lemons in the mouth, reasonable fruit concentration but really quite lean. Refreshing and clean. Very good.
