Bonnet-Cotton Fleurie

PnP. Nose of blood orange, rose hips, red flowers, and cinnamon stick. Stony wild berries with a strong jolt of acidity on the palate, adding cumquat, and tangerine peel. Edges into citrus pith on the finish, with a pleasant bitterness laid over unripe strawberry and light herbal tea flavors. A touch leaner than many of their wines, but drinking well.

No detailed notes but seemed a little lean at this tasting.

Nose of raspberry, rhubarb pie, wet leaves and a potpourri spice element. Sharp palate of tart cherry, raspberry, and orange fruit infused with energy and floral notes. Sour, “natural” funk on the finish with watermelon, hard candy, and light tannins to marry with the acidity. Wonderful on its own and coming into form.

Perfumed nose immediately impressive, violet, red and purple fruit, background of fresh mushroom and mineral. Juicy acidity leads a long structured, granite finish; bright, crushed red berry throughout with white pepper nuance. I found this bottle flabby in 2020, but this is electric, up there with the best of the cru.
